Freyja walked up behind them. “I think I look plenty refined,” she said.

Tessa jumped. "Y–Freyja what in the world! I swear it's like everyone wants to give me a heart attack." She told Paise.

“No one’s giving you heart attacks, you’re just naturally unobservant,” she told her, sitting down. “Didn’t you hear me walking up?”

Joshua walked out of his cabin holding a small knife that he'd won in a bet a few minutes before. He twirled it in his hands as he walked around camp, looking for something to do. Most of the campers here had powers and magic, but he couldn't really do much with what he had.

"I wouldn't be able to hear anything over your over-sized ego," Paise shot back.

“Oh please, you should be able to hear just fine if it was mine,” she rolled her eyes. “Are you sure it isn’t yours?”

Tessa sighed. "It kind of hard to with all this noise." She said, a little hurt. But she was used to it. Freyja had picked on her since the first time they met.

she was originally from a dark!Demigod story so

Paise stopped, he was never good at comebacks, so it wasn't a surprise he failed this hard.

“Cat got your tongue?” Freyja continued, about to insult them some more, when another boy walked up.

“Leave them alone, Freyja,” Jude sighed.

Freyja glared at them and then Jude and walked away.

“Sorry about her. How are you guys?”

Tessa sighed. "I'm used to it. It's kind of hard not to be when the girl sleeps in the bunk above you."

“She doesn’t actually hate you,” he insisted. “It’s just easier to take it out on a person rather than godly beings.”

"I guess so. But it's hard to be on the receiving end. I mean seriously. Her comments are as sharp as knives."

Joshua made his way over to the archery range. He didn't actually know how to use a bow, but he always seemed to hit the bulls-eye. He drew back the string and release the arrow. It flew directly through the center of the target, as always.

“She gets it from her step-mother, I think. Even thought they’re not blood-related,” he laughed. A dark haired girl walked up behind them.

“Hey, guys. I’m Kyna, Jude’s twin.. Have I met you?”

"I don't think so. I'm Tessa." Tessa stuck out her hand.

“Nice to meet you, Tessa,” Kyna said, hesitantly shaking her hand. “Jude, I came over to tell you that there’s a letter for you on your bunk. I’m gonna ditch now, bye.” She turned and headed for the archery range

“Oh… thank you?” Jude said. “Anyways…”

“Hey! You there!” Kyna shouted at the person on the archery range.

Tessa smiled. "Hmm." She picked up her dropped bow and slung it over her back.

Joshua turned around and saw a girl walking up to him. He looked around and pointed to himself. "Me?"

“Yes. I wanted to know how you’re doing that.”

"Doing what? Archery?" Joshua asked. "Well, I dunno. You just pick up the bow and start shooting."

“No, not that,” she rolled her eyes. “You’re not even holding it properly, yet you still hit bulls-eye every time.”

"Oh!" He grinned at her. "Child of Tyche. I'm just really lucky."
