Macha tugged anxiously at the long skirt of her wedding dress for what must have been the twelfth time, staring at her reflection in the mirror before her. You look fine, she told herself yet again, but as before, she didn’t believe it.

The one thing she loved about the whole outfit was her hair. It had taken a good half hour, but she’d managed to twist it into an elaborate seven-stranded braid that hung halfway down her back. She’d also French-braided two parts of her hair on either side of her forehead that gradually blended with the plait on her back, carefully tucking each strand away. The hardest part of it all had been pulling apart one of the bouquets she’d bought and threading the flowers into the meticulously intertwined white locks. Ice blue and baby pink blossoms wreathed the sides of her head like an Olympic victory crown, spotted with tiny white and buttery yellow blooms. The same flowers were woven into the plait down her back— and damn she was proud of what she’d done.

The thing she was most self-conscious about was her wedding dress. The gown itself was simple white fabric, unadorned by embroidery and lace for the sake of not spending money they didn’t have, but the shape and design was beautiful. Or, it would have been on another woman.

Macha couldn’t help but feel her stomach twist at the way the neckline dipped off the shoulders, at how open the back was. The full, swishy skirt she was more than fine with. But the amount of bare skin showed scared her. What if Tyler recoiled at the sight of all that stone? What if his beautiful smile didn’t quite reach his eyes? What if he— Stop. You look fine. Tyler thinks you look fine. You picked out this dress together. Macha squared her shoulders. To hell if she was going to let this ruin her wedding day.

A couple minutes later, she found herself at the base of the steps in front of the church. A huge grin found its way into her face and she prepared herself to walk down the isle. Alone.

Tyler took a deep breath for about the hundredth time that morning. He heard the quiet chatter and rustling of the guests, an occasional laugh rising up from the otherwise monotone crowd. The only reason he was so nervous at the moment was that Macha, his amazing, beautiful, soon to be wife, wasn't at his side telling him to calm down. The thought of her brought a smile to his lips and tears to his eyes as he ran his hand through his hair.
"Ty! Ler! NO!" A familiar voice commanded loudly behind him. Rafael (who is always appearing at the most random of moments to fill time) smacked Tyler's hand back down to his side and began fixing his hair, prompting Tyler to grin wider and roll his eyes. "Glad you could make it Raf. Go sit down." He laughed, nudging his friend away.
A couple minutes after everyone was seated and Tyler had calmed down a bit, (an organ or piano or whatever music they had chosen to walk down the aisle to) started to play. Are you ready, my darling?

Are you ready my darling? The thought broadcasted into her head widened her grin. More than ready. Macha wiped her sweaty palms on her skirt. She began to climb the front steps.

Tyler drew in a breath when he saw Macha, tears immediately forming in his eyes. Her dress..her hair..her smile. That beautiful smile. He didn't take his eyes off of her as she slowly made her way up the aisle.

Macha’s eyes met Tyler’s from across the church and tears began to form. Tyler. It came out like a sob, even in her mind. She closed her eyes for a moment, conjuring the mental image of her father, standing next to her, ready to walk her down the isle to her future husband. Together in spirit, they began to travel forwards.

I can google some Pinterest-level vows if you want

I don’t know a lot but basically the bride’s dad walks her down the isle to the groom and the priest, who reads the vows and they say ‘I do’ and kiss
