"What? How? You're way better than me!" he protested, scooting closer to her on the bed.
"What? How? You're way better than me!" he protested, scooting closer to her on the bed.
“Nuh-uh. No way. You’re much better than I am,” Kasey protested, shaking her head.
Barry leaned his head on her shoulder, mimicking her action in disagreement. "Not at all."
“Yes, at all. All the alls,” Kasey chuckled, tilting her head a bit so she could nuzzle him gently.
Barry shook his head once more, leaning into her. "All the nots."
“How about we just agree to disagree, hm?” Kasey suggested softly, kissing the side of his head.
"Fine," he huffed, looping an arm lazily around her waist.
“Now… I believe I owe you a dance?” Kasey reminded him, grinning at the thought.
Barry's eyes lit up. "Yes please," he grinned, jumping up and grabbing his speaker off the top of the dresser. "Any song requests?"
“Have you ever heard Caleb and Kelsy’s cover of Thinking Out Loud?” Kasey asked, grinning as she stood.
“I haven’t even heard the original,” he admitted, pulling out his phone to sync with the speaker.
“It’s originally by Ed Sheeran, but I love their voices together,” Kasey explained, stepping into a part of the room with more floor space.
(Boop!)
(crap I thought I had responded)
"Cool," he grinned, following. "What do I do? Put my hands on your waist?"
(Lol. It’s fine.)
“Mmhm. And I’ll put my arms around your neck,” Kasey said with a smile as she did so. “And then we just kinda… sway.”
Barry's grin softened, and he gently placed his hands just above her curves, humming along to the song.
Kasey smiled up at him softly, moving with him to the music. It was nice to do this with him. Very romantic…
Barry savoured the feeling of her arms around him, closing his eyes for a moment. “I’m so tempted to pick you up..”
Kasey laughed lightly. “That would kind of make dancing difficult, babe.”
“Shh, stop putting dents in my evil plans,” he whispered teasingly, giving her a light kiss.
“Aw, sorry, hun,” Kasey giggled before kissing him back softly.
(Good afternoon!)
Barry smiled into the kiss, letting his eyes fall gently shut. He swayed to the rhythm, leading Kasey around the room.
(Good afternoon to you, too! How’re you today?)
Kasey smiled and pulled away slightly, just so she could rest her head on his chest. She could hear his heart beating, and it made her smile even more.
(Pretty great, I just went shopping for gifts, you?)
His heartbeats sped up, and he was sure she could hear them. Humming along to the song, he managed to murmur “This is nice.. we should do this more often.”
(Ooh, fun!!! I’m excited. My church is having a Christmas dinner tonight, and a bunch of us are going to play the game Spoons. It can get very intense… And violent…)
“It is,” Kasey agreed softly, shifting slightly closer to him. “We should. Also, you’re warm…”
(oh oof, have fun. I'm going to a pageant at my church pretty soon, I'm excited for that)
The comment brought a blush to Barry's cheeks. "I'm happy to be your human pillow," he murmured into her ear, bringing a hand up to stroke her hair. "I like the song, too."
Kasey grinned and moved so she could nuzzle him a bit. “Thanks. It’s one of my favorites. I’m glad you like it.”
Barry's blush deepened. How can she have this kind of effect on me, after so long? he wondered, opening his eyes to gaze at her softly. "I love it."
“Hm… I love you,” Kasey said, pulling back to look up at him with a soft smile.
Once more, Barry grew redder. "I– I love you too," he stammered, caught off guard. "A lot."
