After someone dies, they meet their own personal reaper, who has watched over them since they were born. They have to agree to come with the reaper through somewhere called the Veil. No one knows what's on the other side except reapers, but they'll never tell. The Veil is the realm of shadows and pretty creepy, no one except the reapers can navigate it. Unfortunatly some angel gone sour has shut of access to heaven or anywhere else, so souls are starting to pile up in the Veil. The reapers start to panic, as everything's being put off schedule and report back to Death himself. Death, as it turns out, has absolutely no idea what to do, and his best friend comes to investigate the panic. Veil, themself, the consciousness of the area puts down their book and to try to figure out how to get their brothers, the archangels, to pay attention to them without causing a panic among the deceased. Unfortunately, people never seem t be able the stay calm, do they?

Dude, grandma reaper would be so cool! They don't need scythes, though. Only Death has one of those, but sometimes reapers use them for fun, most just use their hands!

Appearance: No one can see them except reapers, Death, and Ghosts (anything in the Veil) they look like a weird shadow outside of that, in the veil, they look like pretty much anything depending on how they feel, a range from half butterfly grandma with a snail shell to three year old boy in knee high socks and a tutu
Fears: Abandonment, being forgotten/ignored, getting lost, not being loved, small spaces, the number 13 , his younger brother: Lucifer (thanks a lot for those last two).
Job: They just have to keep existing so heaven doesn't crash into the universe and tries to evict ghosts, has to keep Death company and help anyone who gets lost in the Veil and keep dangerous things from entering Earth (hellhounds, angel wings, heavenly light, anything that might destroy human eyes)

Anything else: They think their related to everything in creation, though most of those feelings aren't reciprocated, Death is the only one they don't think of as a little brother or sister, Death's just their best friends.
