“Well… If you weren’t there when I fought the Red Falcon, then there’s a good chance I would have just passed out on my way back here because of my head,” Kasey explained with a shrug.
“Well… If you weren’t there when I fought the Red Falcon, then there’s a good chance I would have just passed out on my way back here because of my head,” Kasey explained with a shrug.
Barry, somewhat relieved by her answer, nodded and traced her jawline with his forefinger. "I guess….."
“Did I worry you? Babe, I’m sorry. I was only joking,” Kasey whispered softly. Kind of…
"No, it's fine, don't worry," he assured her quickly. "I have a habit of jumping to the worst– sorry."
“You don’t have to apologize,” Kasey murmured, kissing his cheek.
Barry nodded, closing his eyes again. "Neither do you– in general, I mean."
“Well… Sometimes I do,” Kasey whispered with a sigh. She hummed a bit and let her own eyes fall shut; not that she was going to sleep, she just wanted to.
"Like when?" Barry prompted. "You'd never do anything to hurt me, and never have. Therefore there is no reason to apologize."
“Well… I mean, if I do something on accident…” Kasey shrugged.
Barry sighed, a small smile on his lips. "I'm sure we won't get into any major, earthshaking arguments because you didn't apologize for accidentally forgetting to hold the door open for me," he teased lightly.
“That’s not what I meant,” Kasey chuckled. “Sometimes I just… I’m not great at expressing my feelings… Sometimes…”
“Sometimes?” he asked, noticing that she left the tail end of her sentence unfinished.
Kasey shrugged and looked away, blushing a bit. "It's nothing…"
Barry raised his eyebrows, pressing closer. "What?"
"I just, um… You know… I love you. A lot. And I just don't really know how to show you or tell you sometimes and I really want to," Kaseu mumbled, her face bright red. The constellation tattoo on her hip was probably near the same color as her face, too.
Barry laughed softly, kissing her mouth. "Believe me, you show it to me really, really well. You don't have to worry about it, but that's really sweet of you."
"That's not the only thing I worry about," Kasey whispered under her breath, half-hoping he wouldn't hear.
Barry's eyes opened, and he pulled back, brows drawing together in concern. "Kase? What do you mean?"
Kasey chewed on her lip. How would she put this? She didn't want to push him away, never ever would should want that…
"I'm worried that I'm going to lose you. Or push you away. Or both," she said, her voice barely even at a whisper this time.
"Oh, Kasey…" Barry sat up, pulling her to him in a fierce hug. "Kase, you're never going to lose me, I promise. And if you ever pushed me away– which I'm sure you wouldn't– you'd have a good reason for it. Don't worry about it."
"But I forget to tell you things, and then that can make some people really upset," Kasey murmured, burying her face in his chest.
"Well, not me," he assured her quickly, holding her gently. "Don't worry about it."
Kasey nodded, her face still buried in his shirt. "I love you so much… Thank you…"
Barry's grip on her tightened protectively. "You don't need to thank me, how could I not do any of this? And I love you too, more than I can express.."
(they're so cute omg)
(IKR??? I love it, omw…)
Kasey tilted her head up a bit to place a single kiss to the bottom of his jaw before she curled back up into him. "I don't think I'll ever stop thanking you…"
(Ikr)
"Hey, constantly thanking you is my job," he protested jokingly, tilting her head up to kiss her lovingly. "And me neither– but you don't have any reason to thank me."
"I have every reason to thank you," Kasey insisted, kissing him back softly. "Every reason and more."
Barry closed his eyes, hugging her and wishing he never had to let go. "No, that's me. I have every reason to thank you– when I met you, Kase, I was in a bad place. A really bad place. And you pulled me out of it, on one of my first days of uni."
“Oh, Barr…” Kasey sighed, at a loss for words. Instead, she just kissed him softly and laid beside him.
(Good morning!)
Barry took hold of her hand in both of his. “So thank you, Kasey, for everything.”
