She thought for a moment before looking back to him. "But isn't it still worth it if you get a laugh or a smile or something? The could could go either way."
She thought for a moment before looking back to him. "But isn't it still worth it if you get a laugh or a smile or something? The could could go either way."
Micheal’s frown deepened. “Sure, but the chance of getting hurt is kinda iffy.”
"Just try it!" She laughed a little. "Come on!" A puppy dog begging face found her face, and soon her entire stance became a pout. "Please?"
Micheal glanced at her and stepped a foot in the puddle. “Like that?”
She laughed. "No! You have to, like, full on jump in it!"
(Also, I heard what happened. As a complete stranger who knows nothing but of your amazingnes, I want you to know that I'm here and sending as much love as I can fit into the internet)
(Oh. Thank you very much. It’s appreciated, I promise.)
Micheal gave her a funny look. “Then I’d definitely get mud on my jeans!”
"Miiiiiccchhhhhhheeeeeaallllll!" Her smile was widening. "Please!"
Micheal shook his head. “I just know it’s gonna end badly!”
"But you'll get a laugh in between!" She sighed and backed off a little. "Fine. Don't." She crossed her arms over her chest and began to stomp away.
Micheal blinked. “Er… if you want me to I can.” He stepped a second foot into the puddle.
Red stopped in her tracks, a smile tugging on the edge of her mouth. She glanced over her shoulder. "I do."
Micheal shifted around. He felt the mud sinking into his shoes already. “So I just jump?”
She turned around. "Uhm. Yeah, I think so."
Micheal chewed on his lips and gave a tiny hop. “Like that?”
"I think it ought to be a bigger splash." Something that was worth wishing on.
Micheal hopped up a bit higher. “Okay. That good?”
"Just a little bit more." She held up her index finger and thumb with a little space between them.
Micheal hopped and splooshed back down safely. “Okay?”
She sighed. "You have to put effort into it. Make it worth- Just. Nevermind. It's fine."
Micheal blinked and looked down at his feet. “I’m sorry. I’ve never been able to jump in puddles as a kid.”
"It's okay." She hadn't really enjoyed (it didn't rain in the Night Sky), but she doubted they were for the same reasons. Still, she was curious. "Why not?"
Micheal sighed. “My parents didn’t let me. They said it tracked mud in the house.”
"Oh, well you've got your own house er- apartment now, right? I mean. Really, Micheal. You don't have to if you don't want to. I just figured you might enjoy it."
Micheal shifted around. “I can jump higher? Though I’m not sure I’m enjoying it.”
"Maybe you will enjoy it. Just try it. If not for you, for me."
Micheal glanced up at her. “How many jumps?”
"Just one. A big jump though."
(Sorry. Kinda sick at the moment)
(It’s okay.)
“Big?” Micheal repeated nervously. “Like, how big?”
"Like," she thought for a moment before walking over to a puddle. "This!" She jumped in it, water splashing everywhere and soaking into her clothes. It felt…nice. Refreshing almost. She found herself laughing a little before turning back to him. "See?"
Micheal watched her jump and tensed when she landed. Her shoes had come so close to slipping in the puddle. She could’ve crashed down on the sidewalk and given herself a concussion.
“Er… okay…”
