“Aw, it’s cute! Too bad you have to cover it up,” Kasey frowned. She glanced back up at Barry and smiled. “How long does it have to stay on this time?”
“Aw, it’s cute! Too bad you have to cover it up,” Kasey frowned. She glanced back up at Barry and smiled. “How long does it have to stay on this time?”
“Only a week or so. The peacock won’t move around while under the bandage, don’t worry.” Barry squeezed her hand lightly, finished bandaging the tattoo up.
Kasey squeezed his hand back lightly. “I can’t wait to take the bandage off. You did such a great job, babe!”
Barry grinned. “Aw, thanks. I’m excited to get a matching one.”
“And I’m excited to see it,” Kasey said with a grin. “Now… What should I do for lunch?”
“What do you feel like? I make a mean fish taco,” he jested, bumping her shoulder with his.
Kasey made a face. “I’m not really much of a fish person…” she admitted. “Maybe spaghetti? I might have stuff for meatballs, too.”
Barry nodded quickly. “Sure, pasta sounds good!” He got up and crossed the dorm to the kitchen.
“Hey, wait! I’m helping you,” Kasey insisted as she stood and followed him.
Barry chuckled, rummaging around before pulling out a large pot. "Yes, Madame."
Kasey stuck her tongue out at him. “Don’t call me madame. It makes me feel old. Anyway, the noodles are in the cupboard.”
"Thanks, mademoiselle," he amended, horribly butchering the pronunciation. He fished around, tossing a packet of noodles onto the counter, and made for the fridge. "D'you have any basil? Parmesan?"
“Basil is in the same cupboard as the noodles were, on the shelf above them. Parmesan is in the door of the fridge,” Kasey said as she grabbed tomato sauce from a different cupboard. She grabbed a pot and filled it with water to start cooking the noodles.
"Thanks, sweetheart." Barry followed her instructions, and soon the kitchen was filled with the delicious aroma of spaghetti Bolognese.
(notice how he always uses softer pet names for her? Like, he doesn't say 'babe', he prefers hearing that from her mouth, but he's said 'sweetheart' and 'darling' before bc he is a smol boi)
(Yeah, I’ve noticed he doesn’t call her ‘babe’. It’s cute.
I just am used to hearing couples call each other babe, so that’s what I generally use. Sometimes I’ll use ‘dear’ or ‘hun’ or ‘honey’ because I think they’re cute and sweet.
Kasey uses ‘Bare’ a lot, too, if you haven’t noticed. I just feel like it makes things more personal using the person’s actual names or a nickname based off of it.)
Kasey took a deep breath as she checked the noodles again. “Bare, that smells delicious. I didn’t realize you know how to cook,” she said with a teasing chuckle.
(yeah, it's v cute
I just love couple names in general)
Barry morphed his facial expression into one of mock (offended-ness?? is that a word? im sorry I'm braindead I slept literally three hours last night), placing a hand on his chest. "Kase, I'm hurt! How dare you?"
(Aw, how come?
Also, lol. I just make up a lot of words…)
Kasey laughed lightly and rolled her eyes. “I mean, I suppose I should have guessed from the French toast, huh?”
(loll
jazz hands insomnia whoop whoop gotta love it)
"Exactly!" Barry drew his lips up in a pout. "I'm hurt, thou hast wounded me."
(Aw, sorry… Do you take anything like melatonin for it?)
“Okay, I’m sorry, Bare,” Kasey said, holding back a laugh as she smiled at him. “I have totally noticed how amazing of a cook you are.”
(yeah, doesn't work a whole lot. It's not a big deal)
"That's better." Barry's pout formed a wide smile instead. "Much better. Thou hast healed my woundeth."
(Hm, dang…)
“Good. I’m glad you’re no longer wounded,” Kasey said with a light laugh. “How much longer until the sauce is done?”
(lol)
"Give it.. I dunno, thirty seconds unless I do something horribly wrong and burn the house down." Barry joked, finishing the sauce along with the sentence. "Want to have a taste?" He immediately blushed, realizing how his words could be interpreted. "I mean– the– I mean the sauce-"
“I knew you meant the sauce, hun,” Kasey said softly, blushing a bit as she walked over. “And sure. I’m sure it tastes as good as it smells, if not better.”
"I should hope so, I feel the need to impress now that you had the audacity to insult my expert chef skills," he joked lightly, bumping his shoulder against hers. "How's that spaghetti coming along?" Handing her a spoon, Barry dipped his own into the thick, red sauce.
“It’s almost done,” Kasey said as she dipped her own spoon in. She brought it up to her mouth, blowing on it a bit before she tasted it. With a grin, she turned to Barry. “Okay, you’ve impressed me. Good job, babe.”
Barry grinned triumphantly. "Thank you. Can't wait to taste the pasta."
"It's just noodles, Bare. Nothing special," Kasey said with a shrug as she went back to them. She checked them once more before pulling out a strainer and setting it in the sink.
(Skip to after food? Sorry I’m feeling uninspired sorry)
(Sure. You don’t have to apologize!
Maybe they could be doing dishes together? And have a bubble fight?)
(Don’t know if you saw this, so… boop!)
