Farron shrugged, sitting down in front of Pollux, “I mean… confused, mostly. Stressed, but not as much as I thought I would be,” He sighed, “I’ve never been one to… talk about things like this.”
Farron shrugged, sitting down in front of Pollux, “I mean… confused, mostly. Stressed, but not as much as I thought I would be,” He sighed, “I’ve never been one to… talk about things like this.”
Lucky sighed and walked back inside the cave and saw Pollux and Farron talking.
"It's okay if you don't want to," Pollux said softly, "but it's probably good to just let it out, especially to someone who's in this situation with you and understands."
He tried to smile a little at Farron, but he was hurting almost too much, both physically and emotionally, to make it convincing.
Farron sighed through his nose, “You’re hurting more then me, my problems are irrelevant… and it’s not like anyone cares so why even bother talking?”
"That's not a healthy way to think, my friend," Pollux replied soothingly, "I care just as you have shown care for me, and you've suffered too. You watched your village go up in flames, for the love of the gods! I would hardly call that irrelevant."
(Oof… I totally had this conversation with someone last night… and I was on Farron's end.)
Farron shrugged a shoulder and looked downwards, “Technically, it wasn’t my village…” He muttered, “People die and you have to learn to live with it in a world where you don’t have many people watching your back, I learnt that the hard way. But thank-you, for saying you care.”
(Yeah, I have conversations like this a lot)
Pollux chuckled just a little. "Of course I care. My job is to watch everyone's back, and it's heartbreaking to not be able to save everyone. It's something all healers learn to cope with, but when something this drastic happens? It's a lot to take in. I went from being able to save almost everyone to being able to save almost no one. But… whether it was your village or not, there were so many living, breathing people there, and they're all gone now. Perhaps it only has so much bearing on how you feel, but… I don't know what I was going to say, actually… this is just all too much."
Farron stayed silent for a while, “Rest, Pollux. You’re going to need your strength for the days to come and I don’t want you getting injured.”
"You should too," Pollux replied, laying his head back and closing his eyes, "We can figure out more of what to do tomorrow."
Farron nodded, “Yeah, I’m sure we will. Rest up, see you when you wake.”
Mara couldn't sleep that night, although she wasn't that scared or that she convinced herself of that, she didn't know what would happen. She was going to be tired in the morning, but having no one on her side made her feel lonely. Mara knew Zander wasn't just going to keep her in the cage the whole time, tomorrow something was going to happen and she knew it.
It was late in the night and everyone was asleep when Oliver had woke up. Even though Nox had the vibe of his mother she wasn't actually, so it was hard to sleep. He looked down at the egg and it had hatched. Looking around he didn't see much so he went to look outside. Riven heard foot steps and woke up. Oliver? He followed behind since he knew it wasn't safe for him out there. "Look Riven, my dragon." (This is his dragon https://pin.it/qa3rpd7blmp3wd)
(Cool!! Should we time skip?)
(Yes, that's what I was planning on doing.)
(Cools)
(I'm ready.)
When Aurelius woke up that morning, it was storming outside, and there was a newly-hatched baby dragon sitting feet away from him. He stood up and walked over to see if Oliver was aware that his dragon had hatched.
Pollux awoke, slumped back against the cave wall. He was quite groggy, not remembering that he had fallen asleep in the first place.
Oliver stood just inside the cave and his was just staring at him. He or she just floated there, Oliver wasn't sure of what to do. "So like, what do I do? It's just staring at me." It looked like smoke not exactly there but you couldn't see through it.
Aurelius glanced at the dragon with awe.
"You should probably try feeding it first. Usually that's a good first step in trust for any newborn."
"What do you feed a smoke dragon like thing?" Oliver had never seen a dragon that didn't have a physical body. The dragon moved closer to Oliver and it looked him straight in the eye then disappeared. "What happened?"
"I'm not sure… We should probably try meat first. What, can you not touch it or something?" Aurelius suggested.
Nox slowly awoke and had her piercing gaze fixed on the baby dragon.
"Yeah." Oliver turned to look at Aurelius but his body fell to the ground. His eyes glowed a blue color and he just stared at the ceiling of the cave. "A body is a lot harder to control then I first had thought." A young boys voice came, but it was different from Oliver's.
Lucky woke up only to find that Oliver's eyes were glowing blue. "What going on?" She asked. Frost woke up and came closer to the others.
“Is he possessed?” Farron crossed his arms and walked towards the boy.
(Btw a smoke dragon has never been heard of before.) "I need food." It said as it tried to stand but failed. "And he's not possessed, I'm his dragon, bit honestly I'm not even sure what's going on." The dragon was just as confused as everyone else.
“We’ll figure it out. As long as you’re not hurting him…” Aurelius said calmly, “After all, you’re one of a kind. I couldn’t have predicted this, but I did expect a unique dragon.”
"The only problem is I can't move and I don't know how to leave his body." The dragon was confused and concerned for the boy, it was his person and he didn't want to hurt him in any way. Maybe sit me up so I can see better?"
Lucky nodded and moved forward. She quickly lifted the boy and ser him against the cave wall just in case he fell over again.
"Thank you." The only thing the dragon could move was Oliver's head. He looked around to see many people and dragons. "Why are we in a cave?" It was all new to him since he was just born.
"This is a sanctuary of sorts. Normal people don't like the ideas of dragons walking around with them, we, however, are not normal." he responded as he leaned against a nearby wall.
Lucky nodded in agreement
