(It's all good!)
Castor felt nervous. He had his hand on the metal table, and when he lifted it up, he realized he had left a dent in the metal. He was filled with even more apprehension at the idea that he may have accidentally created a situation that would reveal his powers, and he hoped no one would notice. He covered the dent up with his hand.
Did he just dent the… nope not today buddy, I’m just going to scoot… Lucille scooted back a little as she saw what happened. If I die like this, I hope the carve “curiousity killed the cat” on my tombstone… She thought as she slowly took another sip.
After a few minutes. Orion was clean of the blood and in a clean pair of clothes. He left his house, jogging to work. When he arrived, he switched shifts with the man who was there and went behind the counter. He leaned against it, occasionally helping people with their things, but buisness seemed slow that day.
Castor's breathing quickened. He was legitimately frightened now. He had accidentally exposed his powers twice before. Both times, it caused his family to have to move. The second time, it had led to his brother's murder. He couldn't do it again. Castor decided he wasn't going to move his hand until Pocky got up and left, and that then, he would just book it out of there.
It would be nice if I could read minds… Lucille thought, taking another sip. Once she finished her coffee, she stood up abruptly and threw it away, slowly walking past the people she saw at the gas station.
(I've got to go. I'm not sure if I'll be back in an hour, or later tonight.)
Orion cleared his throat, coming out from behind the counter. He went into the break room and to a small fridge that was on the floor. He opened it and took out a clear bottle. He inhaled sharply, taking in the metallic smell. Though, for once, the usual deep hunger didn’t claw at his chest. He didn’t want to believe it, but he knew it was because he ate the flesh of the man.
Hans panted, as he walked out from the dense woodland. He came face to face with a long, winding, two-lane asphalt road.
He jay-walked over to the gas station on the other side, and scoured it from top to bottom.
He went in.
Orion heard the bell to the front door of the gas station ring. He took a quick drink from the bottle before putting it back into the fridge and emerging from the break room. He went back behind the counter, eyeing the man who just walked in. He had a strange scent too him, and Orion almost laughed. Another non-human, possibly? This was starting off to be one hell of a week.
Castor unknowingly clamped his hand down on the back of his stool and left a dent in that too, and at that point, he panicked.
"Oh, god…." he murmured. "I-I have to go…"
JP rummaged around, searching for something, after a while, he found a chip brand with an obscure following, and a decent bag of candies, and put them on the register.
"These… That's all." He said.
Lucille left the coffee shop, everything was so fishy. She was going to relax and go to the a candy shop.
Orion glanced at the man warily and nodded. “That’ll be $7.50,” He said, inhaling slowly as a discreet way of taking in the man’s scent. ‘Definetly not human,’ he thought.
JP handed him the money, and left.
When the man was gone, Orion let out a long, low whistle. “This shit is insane,” he said to himself, chuckling.
Castor quickly gathered his things and ran out of the coffee shop, not looking behind him. He rushed down the sidewalk for a few blocks, then felt comfortable slowing his pace when he reached the more busy parts of the city.
My name is Luna-Amethyst Wisteria Kingsley, but you can call me Luna.
