"Hey, Marvin!" Sacia called in a stage whisper as his movements woke her up. "When are ya headin' for the strike?"

"Now." Marvin whispered back. "Let's go." (please, call me Marv.)

Finley rolled around in his bed, half awake. He heard the whispering coming from the 'stupid ones' that woke up early. "Go back ta sleep…." He mumbled.

(okie) Sacia hurried out of bed, slamming her cap on her head. "Ready!" she said, forgetting to whisper.

Finley jolted awake as he heard someone speak rather loudly. "Shut up!" He exclaimed in a hushed voice, sitting up and rubbing his eyes. "Some of us is tryin' to sleep!"

"Aw c'mon sleepyhead," Sacia said, unabashedly not whispering, "since you're up you might as well join us!"

"Join? Join what?" Finley responded, still not fully awake.

"What do ya think, idiot?" Sacia laughed. "The strike."

He flopped back onto his bed, rolling his eyes. "Good luck with that. I'm stayin' here."

"C'mooooon!" Sacia urged, scrunching her face up. "What's the worse that could happen?"

"Uh…I could die!" Finely exclaimed. "Or starve." He added, closing his eyes.

Sacia shook her head. "All of a sudden, I can see you becommin' a performer. You're overdramatic."

"Admittin' defeat already?" Finley turned and grinned at her as he said it.

"You wish," she shot back, smiling. "But now that I sees that you're completely awake, you might as well tag along!"

"Let's just go. If he doesn't want to go, then he won't." Marvin started down the stairs to start the long walk.

"Awh, I guess," Sacia grumbled begrudgingly, following Marv. "He's such a scaredy cat."

Finley groaned. They thinks I can't go….I'll prove 'em wrong… He stood up, throwing on his jacket. "I'm comin'"

Sacia smiled smugly, saying absolutely nothing.

Marvin glared at Sacia. "Fine. Let's go." Damn. It was cold out. If they were rich, they would be able to afford a carriage. If they were really rich, they would have a car.

Finley grumbled, shoving his hands in his pockets and shivering slightly. "Why am I doing this…"

Sacia skipped along excitedly. "It's cold today. Is my nose red? It always turns red when its cold. Wonder why that is. Anyway, doesn't matter. This is gonna be fun. Right?"
