"Thanks," he called over his shoulder, humming to himself as he got everything ready. Soon, the heavenly smell of maple syrup was filling the dorm room.
Barry loaded two stacks of dripping toast onto their plates and made his way back to Kasey. "Voila!"
Kasey glanced up from her phone and grinned when she saw the food. “That looks and smells so good… Thank you so much,” she hummed as she took the plate.
Barry grinned, settling down on the bed next to her with his leg overlapping hers. "Let's hope it tastes just as good." He took a large bite out of it, accidentally squirting maple syrup up his face.
“You’ve got maple syrup on your face now, babe,” Kasey laughed lightly before taking a bit of her own.
Barry laughed at his own clumsiness and pulled a tissue from the tissue box on Kasey's bedside table to wipe at the sweet syrup.
"You like? The toast, I mean, not the maple syrup on my face."
“Yeah, it’s great,” Kasey mumbled around a bite, shooting him a quick smile before going back to eating.
Barry sighed contentedly, quickly finishing off his French toast. He leaned against Kasey, soaking up her warmth.
Kasey glanced over at Barry’s empty plate and left out a soft laugh. “You eat so quickly. If I ate that fast, I’d get sick.”
Barry rubbed at the nape of his neck sheepishly. "What can I say, I'm a hungry man." Hungry for more than just food. With a grin, his eyes landed on her lips.
Kasey blushed when when she noticed where his gaze landed, biting her lip almost subconsciously. If she could just finish her food quickly, she’d be fine. More than fine. She’d be great, mostly because she enjoyed every moment spent with him.
The way she bit her lip… god, Barry deserved a medal for resisting the urge to lean in and kiss her right there and then. "You're so cute," he informed her, slipping an arm around her shoulders to pull her up against his side. "All the time."
“Am not,” Kasey mumbled, looking down to hide her red-tinted cheeks. She took a bit of her French toast, having almost finished it.
"Are too."
Barry couldn't stand it anymore. He carefully wiped off his fingers on a tissue and ran them along Kasey's jawline, pushing the hand that held her toast down and crushing his lips against hers.
Kasey quickly blinked a couple of times in surprise that he’d just kissed her right then, while she was about to finish her food, before she closed her eyes and kissed him back. She set her plate on the nightstand beside her, hoping it wouldn’t crash to the ground.
Gosh, he tastes like maple syrup…
Barry let out a quiet sigh, angling her face upwards so that he could better access her soft mouth. Kasey's lips tasted so sweet– he just wanted more of her. Tingles rushed over his skin, and his heart swelled in his chest.
Kasey hummed happily against his lips. How had she managed to get a boyfriend like him again? She just loved him so much…
"I love you…" he murmured into her mouth, breaking off the tender kiss to bump his nose against hers. "How did I ever manage to get a girlfriend like you?"
“I was just thinking the same thing about you,” Kasey breathed with a smile. She quickly kissed him again before pulling away a little farther to look at him softly.
Barry suddenly found himself unable to breathe, as if it was their first time all over again. "Me?" he asked softly, "You're the amazing one here.."
“Barry, you’re amazing, too. You are so smart, and your powers are so cool, and you are breathtakingly handsome,” Kasey said softly, taking both of his hands in hers.
"Me? Smart? Handsome?" Barry was genuinely surprised. "Kase, that's all you, not me."
“Oh, I’m handsome now?” Kasey teased, trying to fight down her blush.
Barry almost slapped his forehead at his own stupidity. "Beautiful. I meant beautiful. Outrageously good-looking." He swiped his thumb over her cheek, where a blush was beginning to emerge. "Gorgeous. Perfect. Stunning. Ravishing," he continued.
“Oh, stop it,” Kasey murmured as she rolled her eyes a bit, her blush deepening.
Barry grinned lopsidedly. "Cute. Adorable. Heart-stopping. Hot. Attractive. Irresistible. Beguiling."
“You’re doing this on purpose now,” Kasey muttered, moving her arms to cover her face and successfully hiding her blush.
"You bet I am." Barry's grin widened as he leaned forward to pepper her hands with tiny kisses until she moved them away from her face. "Move your arms," he whined, "I want to kiss you.."
“Stop making me blush!” Kasey exclaimed, peeking through her fingers.
Barry finally managed to pry Kasey's hands away from her face, leaning forward to press a tender kiss to her mouth. "But you're so cute when you blush!"
“But it’s embarrassing!” Kasey argued, pouting at him.
