“A water would be great, please. But you really don’t have to do this, Bare,” Kasey said for probably the millionth time as she slowly pushed herself into a sitting position.

Barry gently pushed her back against the headboard. “I want to. It’s my job as a boyfriend.” He crossed the dorm to the kitchen, filling a glass with cool water and returning to Kasey.

Kasey shook her head slowly — if she did it any faster, she’d be in extreme pain — and smiled up at Barry as he returned with the water.

“Well, then, thank you. I’ll find a way to make it up to you somehow,” she assured him before taking a sip of her water.

“You’re already making it up to me by being my girlfriend.” He sat down next to her, patting her leg comfortingly. “I still can’t believe you’re a superhero.

Kasey rolled her eyes a bit in amusement. “Yeah, you and the whole rest of the world,” she chuckled lightly. “And you can hopefully stay out of this business, too. Harper tried to keep me out, and I can see why now. It’s a lot of hard, dangerous work, and it’s difficukt to keep up with the rest of the world when you’re ‘super-ing’.”

Barry chuckled. “I can’t belive you’re related to the Mask. My little sister had action figures of the guy when she was little.”

“Really? Huh, I’ll have to let him now he’s got some big fans,” Kasey teased, closing her eyes as she took another sip of water.

“Mm.” Barry smiled down at her, suddenly filled with affection. “I could make you some soup, if you want.” What he really wanted to do was take care of her— and maybe spoon-feed her.

(Sorry, I’m out shopping with my sister and our friend.)

“No, I’m good. Thanks, though. Maybe an ibuprofen?” Kasey suggested with a small smile. “There in the bathroom cupboard.”

"Sure." Barry disappeared and reappeared a moment after, dropping the bottle in the palm of her hand.

“Thanks,” Kasey murmured as she tossed one into her mouth and chased it down with a drink of water.

“How are you feeling?” Barry reached forward to take her hand in his.

“Still tired, but I think my headache is slowly going away. Very slowly,” Kasey said with a sigh. “Come snuggle?”

Barry didn't hesitate, slipping his legs under the covers and pulling her into his embrace. He buried his face in her hair, inhaling deeply. "How could I possibly refuse?"

Kasey chuckled lightly and snuggled into him. “I mean, you totally didn’t have to, but it is greatly appreciated.”

"I totally did have to, you're my girlfriend who just saved 6th Avenue. Plus, extra cuddles." Barry's arm tightened protectively around her, and he leaned down to kiss the top of her adorable head. "Who wouldn't want to cuddle with the amazing Kasey– hey, what's your superhero name?"

Kasey giggles and kissed his cheek. “Kinesie. Like kinesis, but more feminine.”

"Kinesie.." he turned the name over in his mouth. "It's cool. You being a superhero is cool. You're cool."

Kasey blushed a little and smiled up at him. “You’re cool, too. Your powers are really cool. Like the tattoos. Those are amazing, babe.”

Barry sighed happily. “Thanks, sweetheart. Maybe I’ll get a superhero silhouette as my next one.. after the peacock.”

“Hm, yeah,” Kasey hummed with a smile. “When can we do those?”

"When you have more energy.. say, tomorrow?" Barry nuzzled her temple lightly with his nose.

“Yeah, if I’m feeling up to it, that sounds great!” Kasey agreed softly, snuggling into him more.

“Mm..” Barry squeezed Kasey protectively, laying his head on top of hers. “If you’re tired, you should sleep..”

“But I like snuggling… I can’t do that if I’m asleep,” Kasey murmured, closing her eyes.

“Sure you can,” Barry murmured softly, rubbing her back. “I’ll cuddle with you until you sleep.”

Kasey scooted down in the bed with a contented sigh. “M’kay…”

Barry lay down next to Kasey, curling around his amazing girlfriend protectively. He stroked her hair with one hand, trying to warm and calm her.

Kasey buried her face in Barry’s chest with a small smile. “I love you…”
