(Ummmmm……. sleeping isn’t too exciting. So, ummm…. time skip?)
“Okay,” She whispered. A wave a exhaustion came, loosening her muscles and joints.
(Ummmmm……. sleeping isn’t too exciting. So, ummm…. time skip?)
“Okay,” She whispered. A wave a exhaustion came, loosening her muscles and joints.
(Sure. To when?)
(When they’re going back…? To help?)
(Okay. Can you start?)
(Num num mum, sure)
“Can I just- no. Can I read? When we get back, or do I have to keep ‘resting’?” She asked, her eyes half closed.
Mal lifted her to a standing position. “You have to keep sleeping. You look dead on your feet.”
“Why thank you,” She muttered, a pang of dizziness washing over from a head rush.
Mal carefully picked her up. “Ready to go? Have a firm grip on your book and sword?”
She changed the position of her hands so she could hold her sword and book better. She nodded.
(?)
Mal walked out of the tent, lashed his wings once and launched off into the sky with a flourish.
Cassandra opened her eyes for a peek, squinting at the sudden light. She breathed in the cold air, this was better than lying in that tent. Wait a minute . . . I’m, enjoying being . . . She stopped herself from gasping.
Mal was unaware and was enjoying his own flying and his hair rushing past his head. She felt heavy and warm in his arms, though she didn’t hinder his flying.
Her stretched out her fingers, flexing her hands. The only sounds were the wind whistling past her ears, and the beat of Mal’s heart which she could hear.
(1 hour later . . .)
(Ggrrrrrrrr Sorry!)
Mal glanced down at her with a smile. “Enjoying yourself?”
Her eyes flew wide open. “Uh . . . Umm . . . I-“ She stuttered.
Mal chuckled and looked around. “We should be there soon.”
She pouted her lips. “Don’t laugh at me,” She brought a hand up to her face, feeling a warm flush make it way to her cheeks.
“I’m not laughing at you,” Mal soothed gently, slowing his pace down in preparation to land.
“I hold you to your word,” She withdrew her hand.
Mal hummed and dipped into a controlled landing outside of the current camp. He set her down and bowed slightly, handing her the book.
“This is where I leave you, but I hope to see you again soon.”
“And this is where I continue reading, and hopefully don’t crash into anyone, or thing,” She dipped her head, reopening her book.
Mal rolled his eyes and jogged into the camp, where he was instantly pounced upon and rushed away. He was a general, after all.
She flipped the page, turning another corner. She bit her cheeks, she loved this book.
Mal was rushed around, offering help to those in dire need. Guardian Angels had special abilities of healing, and the Angel side needed it desperately.
The blade sliced through the air- “No!!” Clearly she liked this book way too much.
Yessss! Exclaimed the author as they killed off her favorite character!
“Why have you done this?” The best character just died. It was all for nothing.
She could hear the author cackling as their lover bent over in grief. They cried out, “NO! NO!”
