"Perfect! Thanks, Daisy." Lucas grabbed the piece and screwed it into place. It didn't- or it did take a while for the two to finish it up. And of course there where mistakes along the way, but once done Lucas gave a triumphet hoot and stuck his fist in the air.
Daisy laughed a bit.
"Thanks again for helping, Lucas. This went by so much faster with help than it would have on my own," she thanked with with a smile.
Lucas grinned an patted the top of the dresser. "No problem. I'm always glad to help and old friend."
"I'm sure you have something to get back to, since it's starting to get late," Daisy mused.
"Not really. I live a very boring life." Lucas shrugged. "But I guess it is getting late. See you another time?"
"Sure. Hey, any chance you know where I can get a job? Maybe a coffee shop or something?" Daisy asked, folding her hands in front of herself.
"Actually, the Starbucks on main is hiring. I work near there. But they've been looking for someone for a while now, I'm sure they'd give you the job no matter what."
"Really? Wow, that'd be great. Thanks so much, Lucas," Daisy breathed with a grin. "I'll… see you later, then."
"Yeah totally!" With that Lucas made his way out and across the street back home.
(Sorry for the shortness again)
(It's fine.)
Daisy hummed as she went throughout her house, unpacking a few essentials here and there. She pulled her phone out of her pocket and started playing one of her favorite songs, Dear No One by Spencer Kane.
Lucas went around his house rumeging for food and then glaring at his roommate, because all the ice cream was gone. "I can't believe you. This is the second time this week." He slammed the fridge door shut. "Stop letting girls brake your heart man."
Daisy hummed and danced around a bit as she unpacked. With a sudden realization, she stopped all three of those things and just stood still.
I should have gotten his number. Darn it, why didn't I think of that earlier?
She groaned and rubbed at her face as she had another thought, He probably doesn't even want to hang out with me. He was probably just being nice today. After all, I did break his heart…
Lucas and his roommate, Dan, continued their fight about ice cream. "You eat all the food in the house! Why- how are you still fit!?"
"I work out! And I don't eat all the food! You're acting like we're married!" Dan huffed out an angry breath.
"Ha! Whatever- I didn't get her number. I'll be right back, and no she's not my girlfriend." Lucas waved to Dan and quickly made his way back across the street and knocked on Daisy's door.
Daisy jumped at the sound of knocking and turned her music off. She stuck her phone back in her pocket and walked over to the door, opening it when she reached it.
"Oh, Lucas! You're back. Did you forget something?" she asked.
"Yeah actually. You're number." Lucas did finger guns but quickly added, "sorry, not in a creepy way. And you don't have to if you don't want to, after what happened all those years ago."
"Oh. No, yeah. Here, hand me your phone and I'll put my number in," Daisy said, putting her hand out.
Lucas pulled his phone from his pocket and handed it to her. "Sorry it sounded really creepy. I was just fighting with my roommate and I remembered, and yeah."
"No, it's cool. I was actually thinking about that myself," Daisy chuckled as she took the phone and typed her number in.
"Oh! Great!" Lucas grinned. "So, do you wanna catch up sometime? Like not a date. Just some friends catching up. I could bring Dan if you want."
"Sure, yeah! That sounds good!" Daisy said with a grin as she handed him his phone back. "Text me so I have you number?"
"Yeah. Sounds like a plan. See you tomorrow?" Lucas stuffed his phone back in his pocket.
"Yeah, that's sounds good," Daisy agreed, crossing her arms in front of her and clasping her hands.
"Alright, see you tomorrow!" Lucas waved and made his way back home, one again.
Once home he pulled his phone out and texted Daisy. 'what's up? -Lucas'
Daisy was laying on her bed, staring up at the ceiling, when she got a text from and unknown number. She looked at it and smiled before texting back.
DAISY: Not much. Just staring at the ceiling.
'must be some ceiling. -Lucas'
Lucas smiled and polpped down on his bed after flipping Dan off for making fun of him.
DAISY: Yeah, it's real interesting. Lol.
Daisy chuckled and sat up a bit in her bed as she texted.
Lucas smiled at his phone and yawned. He rubbed the back of his neck trying to decide what to say next. 'I should get going, see you tomorrow. Night! -Lucas'
DAISY: All right. See you tomorrow!
Daisy rested back on her bed with a smile, sighing.
Lucas plugged his phone in and layed down on his bed. Felling into a black dreamless sleep.
Daisy got up and changed into a pair of pajamas before laying back on her bed. She smiled as she fell asleep.
