Macha curled up tighter, trying to do as he said.
But the night went on, and her eyes did not close, her mind did not rest.
Macha curled up tighter, trying to do as he said.
But the night went on, and her eyes did not close, her mind did not rest.
Tyler sighed and sat up. "If we aren't sleeping then what's the point of laying here?"
Macha pushed herself up as well, checking the time. 2:00 am. She’d been sleeping much easier since she’d moved in with Tyler, but not tonight.
Tyler stood up slowly and walked over to the window, peeking out warily. He turned back around and sat down on the bed, sighing deeply.
“How are you feeling?”, she whispered, even though there was no one else around to hear.
"Mm. Not fantastic. How bout you?"
“Me neither.”, she admitted. “I’m— I’m afraid. And angry.”
"Angry?" He asked, looking over at her.
“At them. For taking our freedom away. For capturing you. For ruining your life.”
"My life will only be ruined if you leave it." He said quietly, looking back down.
“Then I won’t. I would never, not by choice.” Macha reached forward, nudging his chin up and placing a gentle kiss on his mouth.
Tyler kissed her back softly then pulled away. "So..do we just wait then?"
“I— I don’t know.”, Macha said miserably, looking down. “I’m tired of being.. so weak. They’re taking away from us. They— they shouldn’t—“
"I know..I know..But I don't want to kill anymore. We have to stop them some other way.."
Macha nodded. No killing. No blood.
"We could always get help.."
“From who?”
"I'm sure we could find someone.." He sighed.
Macha exhaled. “You have a demon living inside of you and I make people go off like bombs if they touch me while I’m having a vision. Anyone we asked would lock us up.”
"Not..everyone….I wonder.." He looked down, lost in thought.
Macha tilted her head in askance. “You wonder…?”
"I think I know someone who can help."
Macha's eyes widened slightly. A spark of hope blinked into existence inside of her. "Who?"
"He was a friend of my father's but left after they fought about something. It was a couple days after my mother died."
Macha nodded slowly. "This could work. And– I'm sorry about your mother."
“It’s fine. But we need to be careful if we go look for him. I don’t know if he’s dangerous or not.”
"What's his name?" Macha shifted closer so that she was closer to Tyler, shivering slightly in her sweater.
Tyler took a blanket and wrapped it around her. “His last name is Kinsky cause that’s what my father called him. Don’t know his first name though.”
Macha pulled the blanket tighter around her, grateful for its warmth. "Where do we find him?"
“Greenwood I think. A couple miles from here.”
