Smiling, Andre gave his response, keeping his voice steady. "Ah. Tomé clases en la escuela hace años, por lo que no soy del todo fluido en este idioma."
He found it quite entertaining to continue their conversation in the separate language. The boy before him seemed quite talented with his fluency for another language and his obvious assistance with the little ones scampering about.

Met hummed softly again and nodded. He’d heard of classes such as these, butnthe orphanage never had enough money to send him to one.
“Me gustaría tomar una clase como esa. Sería bueno saber más de dos idiomas.”

"I would be happy to take you to one," Andre offered. Shaking his head lightly though, he remembered the one issue.
"It doesn't seem like you'd be willing to get adopted though. It's a shame because I like you. Kind and a fast learner too," he complimented.

Met sighed softly. “I’d like to get out of here. But my problem is that no one wants a teenager who is deadly frightened of women. I always jump when one sneaks up on me or walks into my room…” He shook his head slowly.

Andre chuckled lightly at this.
"I'm not laughing at you," the older man began to explain. "I just think it's lucky enough for you seeing as I'm not anywhere near being a woman and I'm pretty sure I might be gay? I prefer to think of myself as pansexual though."

Met frowned a bit. “I suppose it is good. It’s convenient. You’d have to go through a whole long process, though. That’d be kinda annoying. You’d have to pay a lot of money and get me some clothes…”

@Painted-Iris group

"Why do you think I'm here if I wasn't aware of the long paperwork and handling custody issues? I think you should worry less on that and think about what you want. It's your choice and I'll handle the rest," he said with a light ruffling of the younger male's hair.

Met blinked a little. He looked curious at the notion. It seemed to be a friendly gesture, one a father would share with his son. This inclined Met to want to go with the man.
“If… if you want me. I’d like to go.”

@Painted-Iris group

It relieved Andre that the boy didn't flinch at his touch. He may not have been a female, but that didn't change the fact that old habits died hard.
Hearing the boy's softer response, Andre beamed with pride.
"If you're sure it's what you want. Your decision is more important than my end," he said as he stood up from his chair.

Met chewed on his lip and slowly stood up. He stooped a little so he didn’t loom over the older male.
“So, sir, what is your name?” He asked this, realizing he didn’t know this.

@Painted-Iris group

"Andre Rush," the man replied with a grin.
"You can call me what you want though," he added quickly. Usually he felt fairly tall, but the teen beside him was taller by at least a few inches. It felt odd. But a good odd.
"Y tú, señor?"

“My nickname’s Met. My full name’s Metaphorical Whembrooke. I don’t much like it, though.” He sighed deeply.

@Painted-Iris group

(large gasp METAPHORICAL IS HEREEE)
"Met it is then," Andre said as he made his way up to the small counter against the back wall. Today he'd be giving this boy hope and it meant the whole world to him. To them both.

(Hehehee)

Met grinned a little. This increased his respect for the adult more than anything.
The lady at the counter looked up from her monitor. “Hi there! What can I do for you?”

@Painted-Iris group

"I'm interested in allowing this one come home with me," Andre replied teasingly. It was better than flat out saying adopt despite the fact that it was just that. It felt more appropriate to say that Met had the choice in the matter.

The lady nodded and started clicking away at her computer. “Okay. I’ll print up a registration and you can fill it out. Unless you’re registered here already?”

Deleted user

The lady nodded and printed out some paperwork.
“Get this filled out, first, then I’ll pull up Met’s work. When you get the latter done, I think you’ll be registered. It’s not a long process for that.”

@Painted-Iris group

Taking the sheets of paper and a pen, Andre began to fill out the several upon several sections he would have to sign. After finishing the second set, he grinned, happy to not need to force Met to wait any longer.
"Anything else I'm required to do?" He asked the woman from before.

The lady shook her head and accepted the papers. “Nope. I’ll just have to make a couple copies and have Met go pack, and you two can go!”

Deleted user

Okay, dude, you can’t just come up in here and advertise your RP! Go away!

@Painted-Iris group

The lady shook her head and accepted the papers. “Nope. I’ll just have to make a couple copies and have Met go pack, and you two can go!”

Andre smiled, already happy he would be a father (or father figure at least) to Met. He seemed a bit distant and unsure at times, but if the boy trusted him enough for this, things would hopefully be okay.

Met blinked at the lady. “I pack? Now?”
“Yes, dearest, you may.” She smiled warmly at him. “If you’d like, sir, you may go with him.”

@Painted-Iris group

Andre nodded, following the lanky boy to where he usually slept there in the orphanage. Met was old enough to handle things on his own if he wished, so the adult simply stayed by the door.
"Call me if you need me," was all he said, tucking the paperwork under his arm.

Met opened the door. It was a tightly knit room, which was oddly clean. Met took about five minutes to pack his meager belongings into a bag. He mainly had a wallet, where he kept money from kind strangers that dropped them into the donation box out front, his keys to his old, beaten down car (bought with the dontion money), and a few pairs of clothes, as well as his rabbit-like stash of food.
“Okay. I’m ready.” He walked out of the room, which didn’t look any different.

@Painted-Iris group

Andre raised a brow when noticing how little there was, but followed Met out. He offered a small supportive smile to the boy as they continued their way out of the building.
"Anyone you'd like to say goodbye to?" He asked, remembering how the younger kids seemed to adore the young man.

Deleted user

Met chewed on his lip as he followed him. “Huh? Oh, no. I can just visit every now and then. I doubt they’ll miss me.”

@Painted-Iris group

The older man frowned lightly at Met's reasoning.
"Don't say such negative things. You're special indeed. I understand if you'd rather us be on our way however," he said, tucking his hands in his pockets. As they re-entered the front room, the shorter man held open the door for the other.
