Barry jerked up slightly. "Gah that tickles!" Feeling his face heat up, he did his best to respond. "Fiiiiine, it was, I'll give you that."
Barry jerked up slightly. "Gah that tickles!" Feeling his face heat up, he did his best to respond. "Fiiiiine, it was, I'll give you that."
Kasey laughed and poked him again. "How are you so ticklish?"
Barry jumped again, nearly falling off the bed. "Hey! No tickles!" He made a pouty face that was smothered by uncontrollable giggling when Kasey poked him again,
)is this a relapse of the hunter-Kenzie tickle scene lol?)
(Lol. There have been a few, so… I guess it depends on which one you mean.)
Kasey laughed and stopped, holding her hands up. "All right, fine… But only because I don't want you to leave before you do my tattoo."
(lol)
Barry kept the smile plastered to his face, even as his palms began to sweat at the mention of the tattoo. It was dark out now, so he moved to turn on the light. "I'm hurt, Kase.", he joked.
"Aw, you poor baby," Kasey chuckled.
Barry made another pouty face, rummaging through his toolbox and coming out with a vial of petroleum jelly. "You're going to have to apply this to the spot where you want the tattoo to make the needle move quicker."
"Okay. One second," Kasey said, blushing a bit as she pulled her shirt up just enough that Barry could do the tattoo. She used a hair binder to tie it up on the opposite side and held her hand out for the container.
Barry's face went pink and he averted his eyes, heart tattoo flushing pink and staying that way. He gave her the jelly and kept his eyes fixed firmly on the floor.
"Are you still sure that you're okay with this? You do t have to do it if you don't want to or aren't comfortable with it," Kasey said, looking down at the jar as she scooped a bit out and applied it to her side.
"It's fine. I've tattooed people before. I just don't want to… scare you off." He began to get the inks ready.
"Okay… If you're sure," Kasey said. She glanced back up and held the petroleum jelly out to Barry. "I'm done, now."
Barry took it from her, finished setting up his (machine thing?) at this point. Taking a deep breath, he braced herself, pressed the carbon paper with the drawing of her tattoo to her skin, and peeled it back, revealing faint inky guidelines for him to follow. Here I go.. He exhaled slowly, stilled his shaking hands, placed one on her hip to steady himself, and began inking with the other, hoping he wasn't hurting her too much.
Kasey bit the inside of her cheek as Barry started, his hand warm on her hip. Using her powers, she lifted a stress ball from her nightstand and grabbed it mid-air. She squished it as Barry did her tattoo.
Barry inserted the needle again and again with a perfected precision, touching her only when he absolutely needed to, where he needed to, and nowhere else. He had to bite down on his tongue, hard, to distract himself from his crazily looping thoughts, focusing only on the spot he was tattooing. He mixed colours and clear blends, shook vials of pixie dust into bottles of ink, continuously wiping away any excess ink as carefully as possible. His heart tattoo stayed a vivid shade of pink, but his hands never wavered.
Kasey continued to squish her pale pink stress ball as Barry did her tattoo. Her gaze flicked over to his heart tattoo every once in a while, and she noticed how it stayed pink. She glanced away with reddened cheeks, focusing on her squishy ball.
Barry's heart was racing, his face was red, and his breathing was uneven, but his hands somehow managed to stay still and steady. "Does it hurt?", he asked quietly, fingers tingling whenever they touched her skin.
"A little," Kasey admitted with a shrug. "But I expected it to."
"Tell me when you want to stop.", he said softly, not meeting her eyes. He just worked and blushed and tried not to focus on the way her warm skin felt beneath his hands. Her goddamn freaking hip her freaking hip–
"I'm okay, don't worry about it. You can finish it," Kasey said, offering him a small smile.
Barry's eyes flicked up, catching on her smile before speeding back down to the tattoo. He'd lost track of the time a while ago. "Mm'almost done,", he mumbled, continuing to tattoo.
Kasey nodded slowly in response. "Okay… Thanks, by the way. I'm excited to see how it turns out."
Barry shrugged. “It’s a small price for me to pay for pizza and a sleepover.”, he joked, but without his usual bluster. He continued gently connecting the points of the constellations, mixing inks and magics until all he had to do was object a small stream of clear ink infused with moon dust into the star points.
"If anything, I should be paying you back. Pizza and spending the night hardly cover the cost of a tattoo," Kasey argued, glancing at him again.
Barry waved it off. “I enjoy tattooing, and you’re my friend. It’s not an issue.” He injected the last bit of ink underneath her skin. “Done.”
Kasey looked over and smiled when she saw the finished tattoo.
"Wow… That's amazing. It's so much better than I hoped it would be. Thank you," she breathed, glancing at Barry again.
Barry’s cheeks flushed, and he looked away bashfully. “It’s no problem… I should probably bandage it up now…”
"Sure, yeah," Kasey said with a nod. "Go ahead."
He began to very carefully bandaged it up, fingers brushing lightly against her skin, tingling as they worked. When he was done, he pulled back, quiet.
"Thanks, Bare," Kasey said softly, her skin warm where he had brushed against her. She carefully tugged her shirt down, releasing it from its hold in the hair binder.
