"Yeah, sorry. It just feels like it's been forever." Afriel sighed and hugged Zackary close. She felt stupid acting so clingy, but she'd really thought he wasn't coming back.

Zackary pulled her closer, leaning his face into her neck. He had no idea what he would’ve done if she hadn’t found him. He’d probably get killed by the Demons before he could learn how to fly.

It wasn't long before Afriel had drifted off to sleep. She felt safe around him, and for the first time in days didn't wake up to the sounds of the night.

Zackary also dozed off quickly, giving her a tiny kiss before he did so. It was good to hug her close again, knowing he’d never loose her again.

Afriel awoke to the sun the next morning and sighed. "Mh, you up?" She asked sleepily.

Zackary was not. He was sleeping soundly, snoring softly and holding her close.

"Zaackary, hey. The suns up." Afriel wiggled around to get her hand out from under herself and poked his nose. "So we should too."

Zackary lowered his head closer to her neck. He dozed off again. Another snore.

Afriel sighed, but was not yet ready to give up her attempts at waking him. "Zackary, the house is on fire." Her tone sounded slightly panicked, but a grin lined her lips.

He didn’t even care. He was in such a deep sleep he couldn’t hear a real fire if he wanted to.

"Zackary wake.up." Afriel wiggled around till she pulled from his arms. She sat up and looked down at him laughing slightly.

Zackary gave a sleepy, long croon and wrapped himself around her again. “Nooooo….” He whined slowly.

"So that's what wakes you up." Afriel chuckled ,"we should really be getting up, I know its the weekend but we should maybe look into getting second jobs."

Zackary opened an eye and shook his head. “I think we’re fine like this. We can ask Enda for a raise.”

"After the stunt you pulled? I think you're lucky to still be working here." Afriel shook her head, "and besides, do you really wanna work in a bakery forever?"

“Yeeesss I love the bakery. We don’t need a second job. We have all we need here. It’s not like we have to pay rent, or anything.”

"I know. But don't you ever want to move out? Get a place of our own?" Afriel cocked her head to the side. "If you think about it this is kinda like living with parents."

Zackary shook his head. “Living here is much cheaper. If we decide to have a family, maybe we could save up some money, move out, then get a house.”

"Yeah, I guess." Afriel leaned her head on her hand. "But we should at least do something today. Unlike you I'm not a sleeping machine."

Zackary flopped back down onto her, knocking her down onto the bed again. He snuggled up again. “Nope.”

"Ack." Afriel glared at him, and sighed. "I don't wanna sleep." She complained. "It makes me more tired."

Zackary curled up around her tighter. “Nooo sleeepppy sleeep.”

"Mhm, sounds like a horrific idea." Afriel ran her fingers through his hair boredly. "Its getting really long. Are you trying to catch up to me?" She asked jokingly.

Zackary crooned softly. “I like my hair like this. Unless you get so bored and decide to cut it while I’m sleeping, it’s staying like this.”

"You know, I just might." Afriel laughed and continued to play with his hair.

Zackary snuggled closer to her. “Just don’t cut too much off…”

"Mhm, don't worry. I don't think I'll even get the chance. Considering you don't let me get up in the morning that is."

Zackary giggled gently. “I doubt you wanna move. Unless you haven’t missed me as I have you.”

"You're right, I don't want to move. But I don't want to go back to sleep either." Afriel mumbled and she cuddled closer to Zackary.

Zackary wrapped his arms around her, rolling to his side. “It’s called snuggling, dear.”
