Kaitlin sat in the darkest corner of the room she could find, finding comfort in the shadows around her that distracted her from the missing presence of her brother. With a sigh, she twirled her spoon around in the air with her magic before placing it in her half empty cup of her now cold hot chocolate with a sigh. She was bored and lonely… like always.
(Yes Qxeen. BTW, don't mind me and Midnight in our other chat, we're just playing around!!!)
Gabe walks over to the counter, sliding a fake id and some money to the counter, getting a joint and lighting it before settling in in a dark corner by Kaitlin, not saying anything.
Kaitlin looked over to the guy sitting in the shadows a short way away from here and swallowed. Curse her and her nerves. She sighed and pulled out her phone to text her brother, hoping he would arrive soon.
He glanced over at her, noticing her uneasiness, the weed making him slightly less quiet, “am I takin someone’s seat, doll?” He asked, in a friendly manner.
Kaitlin shook her head, “N-no. You’re not.” She said quietly, going back to fiddling with her spoon.
Teivel started to eat his edible, dipping it in the hot cocoa he'd gotten next. The stools were comfortable, but he wanted to be able to lean back more, so he hopped off and went to a booth, any one would do.
Gabe leans back in his sofa like chair, “neat trick you had goin’ on there…with your..” he gestures to her hands and spoon vaguely
“Oh, That… Thanks. It’s nothing really.” Kaitlin shrugged and ran a hand through her hair.
Teivel was just finished with his brownie, and about to drink his hot chocolate, when he remembered that he'd forgotten a straw. He shapeshifted one from his exposed forearm, and detached it. Using it to drink.
“Nah, it’s neat, sweetheart, I mean, I can’t do it” He looks around the room, feeling loose and more extroverted. He scanned the room with hungry eyes, almost as if he was on the prowl for someone to take. The hungry look quickly faded as he faced her again
“So? It still doesn’t make it that good of a trick.” Kaitlin relaxed a little and lent forward on the table a little. The shadows danced at her fingertips and she waved them away, and the ones snaking round her neck like a snake with a small smile at it.
Gabe puts up his hands in mock surrender, he chuckles, a sound like rain on a tin house, “hey, I’m jus’ tryna give a compliment!”
“I know, I know… sorry, guess it’s the insecurities…” Kaitlin’s voice became quieter as she spoke but she still relaxed more in Gabe’s presence.
Gabe scoots closer towards her, mostly because of her voice lowering, he tilts his head, “insecurities? About what? I mean you’re a smokin’ lookin’ girl, and you can do magic? That’s a keeper” he says with a small wink
Teivel looks out the window, indulging in the rich chrome and neon colors outside as his mind and body begin to geel fuzzy. He giggles a little bit, as the weed kicks in.
Kaitlin blushed and looked down at her lap, “Thanks, just normal teenage girl insecurities I guess.” She shrugged and looked back up, “You’re not too bad yourself.”
Gabe laughs heartily, “why, I thank you. I’ll take pride in my title as ‘not too bad’” he looks around once more, “you care for a drink? Or a smoke?”
Kaitlin shook her head, “No. I’m alright. I don’t smoke… or drink.” She smiled shyly.
Teivel finishes his cocoa, as a new lo-fi song comes on. He stands up, returning the mug to the counter, and returned to his booth, starting to giggle.
Gabe raises an eyebrow, with a small smirk and slight laugh he says , “i wouldnt think this would be the place for you then”
Kaitlin rolled her eyes, "Well… I drink, just not often. I'm waiting for my brother and this is his favourite place so…" She shrugged.
“Ah, I see.” He blinks and sighs slightly before inhaling deeply through his joint, “family….that’s an interesting thing to have…”
"You got that right…" Kaitlin went back to fiddling with the spoon and the shadows with a sigh.
“I haven’t had a family in…” He shakes his head, “I’m not sure how long”
"Better that then an abusive one… even though not having family is sad." Kaitlin replied and she refused to make any eye contact or look over to him.
He shrugs slightly, “eh, it’s all I can remember…and I keep in mind how my situation isn’t the worst” he looks at her meaningfully, “because not having one and having no expectation is better than having one and gaveling those expectations ruined”
Kaitlin sighed a little and nodded slightly, "I guess you're right…"
