She sat up slowly. She couldn't believe she was doing this. Offering herself to Lien. Bowing before him. She wasn't a Queen at all. "Yes, I would." And what would she say? How would she explain to them that they would be returning to the Light Kingdom…. Without her? How would she tell them that she was marked, bound to the King of Darkness, their captor for the last years? She refused to look at Lien, she had already shamed herself enough, groveling at his feet like a peasant. Like a slave.
“I shall arrange to have you meet with them as soon as possible,” He could not kill them. But his father would if he didn’t, so, he was left with one option. Pretend to kill them. He didn’t know what to feel about it, whether he should feel guilty he betrayed his father, or glad that he had not killed the Princesses of the Light. Fortunately, his father had not asked to kill them in front of him, or kill them himself.
She said nothing as her heart fluttered inside of her chest. "I must look pathetic to you…" She said, ashamed of her actions. But this was the only way to make sure her Kingdom was taken care of. If they could not have her, then at least they'd be safe in the hands of her sisters once more.

“You have your reasons. There’s nothing pathetic about trying to save your sisters and let them return home once again. You just want to make sure your kingdom is sustained, kept in balance, and make sure it does not fall into chaos. And the war has taken many and depleted resources.” All coldness and hatred in Genesis’s eyes had nearly faded.
She looked at him. "Lien… You are not at all as I perceived you to be…" She admitted. "I have misjudged you severely." She held his gaze, a fire flaring over her chest.
(Back)
He smiled. “Just because I am the King of Darkness does not mean I am evil nor arrogant, merciless, cold. Not many people know what I am truly like, and that I wish to change,” He said. He did not know why he told her this, but he did.
She nodded and unconsciously placed a hand on the Mark. "And maybe…. I could help with that…" She looked up at him, taking in the color of his eyes. His eyes were beautiful. She leaned in close and place a hand on his mark. A jolt ran through her arm, but she kept her gaze on her. Her heart pounded in her chest.
(BBS, Voting stuff)
“What are you . . . ?” He started. Her warm hand covered his mark, it felt like a spark had been lit at the connection. He exhaled heavily, The Moon’s Binding, The Mark of Mating. Like a curse, like a blessing . . .
(Ok)
Their hearts were in unison and Genesis oddly took solace in the sound of it. Warm flooded her and she softly smiled at him. So this is what the Binding is like she thought. She remember the stories that her mother had shared, about the love and possesion you felt for the One you were marked with. There was no way she could deny what she felt now as she looked into Lien's eyes, as she leaned closer, her lips parting in a silent question. She brushed her lips against his, fire erupting in her veins.
(Back, and, uh, Holy Bejezells! And also, shouldn’t Shuri like walk in recovered and then see this and then be like, I am going to slowly torture you to death?)
Her lips grazed his skin sending waves of electricity across it. The air between them was magnetic. The Binding was working it’s magic, a new feeling now filled Lien. His father had told him that even himself had fallen to it, as hard as it was to believe. The moon had a power never to be understood or used by another. Why Genesis and himself had been marked . . . ?
((I was thinking the same thing XD))
Shuri had taken a bath and changed into nicer silken clothes. Surely Lien would want to discuss movements towards recovery of the war and what to do with that… Vile queen. Surely. She tucked her long black hair behind her ear and nade her way to his tent. It was silent. He sent her away. Finally Shuri sighed with.relief and ducked into the tent. Her heart plummeted into her stomach and she looked at the two, crestfallen. "Excuse me my Lord." She managed, though she fought to keep the tremor from her voice. "I had hoped you would be ready to continue discussing the effect of the war." Her eyes burned and she blinked rapidly.
He looked up to see Shuri, seeming to be blinking away tears. “It will only take a few minutes-“ He glanced at Genesis. “- Are you alright Shuri?”
She swallowed. "Yes- yes I'm perfectly fine." No, no I'm not… She wiped her eyes. "As I came here, I passed quite too close to a camp fire. The- The smoke! It got in my eyes. I'm afraid I'm a little teary now." She let out a small laugh. Genesis could see through her lie almost instantly, she had heard similar ones before. She took her hand from Lien's chest and stood. "I shall return from whence I came." She dipped her head to the two and left.
“I shall dress and then we may continue with recovery from the war,” He stood up and took ahold of her shoulders. “You can tell me later why you are crying,” He spun Shuri around, closing the tent flaps.
Shuri started to complain but as she went outside of the tent she felt silent. She watched the Queen's receding figure. The way hee hips swayed as she walked. The way she held her shoulders back and her chin high. It was all so….graceful, so beautiful. So… the opposite of Shuri. She shook her head with disappointment.
(Gtg for today, ‘see’ you tomorrow)
He dressed quickly wanting to access the damage and start a plan as soon as possible. Shuri had acted differently the last few hours since Genesis and himself had been brought back. He opened the flaps again. “The queen also requires a meeting with her sisters as soon as possible, have that recorded so that I don’t forget.” He cleared his throat. “Now we must proceed with a plan for recovery,”
Snapping out of her thoughts, Shuri nodded and scribble a note among her stats. "Yes- uh…the battlefield has been swept. Most of the dead have been numbered and identified, putting our deaths at 516 foot soldiers, 450 riders, and 605 archers. We are in the process of having them sent back to the capital to be properly burried. Families shall be informed. No word has come from our battleships." She paused. "Weapons and and material have been scavenged and brought back for reuse. And all of the injuired have been cared for. I am hesitant on sending them back so quickly though, it is not clear if some will make it through the night. We will discuss a speech to inform the people of the stalemate at a later time." Shuri sighed. "And that leaves the matter of … Queen Genesis." She looked at him.
((I can taste the salty))
“1,571 deaths,” He sighed. “Genesis will return in due time, for now, we can finish cleaning up here. The fields will be stained with blood for a while, Not such a beautiful site. And since it is later, tell me why you were crying Shuri,”
Shuri turned abruptly. "That has nothing to do with the war. That has nothing to do with this situation, and that has nothing to do with you." She stated sharply. Though that last part was a lie, Shuri would die before she said anything to him about it. She had to get it into her mind that Lien was not her… or at least he would not be now. Not after what she saw.
“Tell me Shuri,” It was wrong to pressure her into telling him something she obviously did not want to tell him. He took her shoulders and turned her to look at him, looking her straight in the eye.
Why was he pestering her about this? He didn't care. He didn't even know. He didn't know what he meant to her. He didn't know how much this who situation affected her. "Do you love her?" Her voice was barely above a whisper. Her blue eyes widened. "Do you love her?" She asked louder, her voice trembling.
“Genesis? . . . I, I don’t know,” He stated. It did have to do with him, and Genesis. He could tell this was a lot for Shuri. Did Shuri love him? The idea was possible, her crying and trembling voice hinted that.
"Well then… how about you let me know when you find out. How about you tell me what you feel after she places her hands on your bare chest and kisses you a little more. Maybe you'll bed her before I find out." She wiped an escaping tear from her face. "But remember who was there for you from the beginning. Who has always been by your side, through good and bad. Remember the one who loved you first.." She then bowed lowly. "Good night King Lien. We shall resume our efforts tomorrow morning." And with that, she turned and walked away. That was it. All her cards were out on the table, it was his turn now, she would just have to wait and see what he would do with them. She returned to her tent. "Leave…" she muttered to the Queen who had taken residency there. She did not look as the Queen exited.
Genesis looked back at the woman as she left. She shook her head and began her trek. She wasn't sure where she would go, she just knew she couldn't go where she wanted. Home. Back to her people, back to her kingdom. No, she may never be able to go back. She was here now, bound by marking and by promise. She ran a hand through her hair and sighed, she had to figure something out. Wandering to the edge of camp, she came up short in options. She had already given her word.
(Oh my gosh! I’m so sorry! I completely forgot about this)
“Shuri . . .” He whispered. Oh Shuri . . . What have I done. He turned back to his tent, laying back down on the cot. “I need to stay calm,” He flipped over, resting his head on his arms.
((Its alright! I did too for a time))
Genesis wasn't sure what she was to do now. She thought of running, of trying to make it back to the battle line. Were her soldiers looking for her? Did they think she was dead? Had they already chosen another ruler? Had they forgotten about her already?
All these possibilities ran through her head. She couldn't take the sorrow that filled her at the thought of her people just moving on like she hadn't existed.
Remember the one who loved you first . . . “What have I done, what have I- no. Stop,” He spoke to himself. He relaxed his stiffened muscles, enjoying the quiet. That’s what he needed for once. To have peace and quiet, to be alone. Have just at least a few moments to himself.
