The lady went back to clicking away on her computer. “You can move in whenever you pay your first month of rent.”

"Do you take checks?" Lilah asked as she dug around in her purse for her checkbook.
“Yes we do.” The lady looked up and smiled. Cameron pulled his checkbook out of his duffle.
“Do you have a pen?”
“Sure do. Here you go.” She handed him a pen, and Cameron began to write a check.
"I would have done it, Cam," Lilah said as she watched him write the check.
Cameron waved his free right hand, as the left wrote the check. “It’s fine. Don’t worry about it.” He put his signature on it and handed it to the lady.
“Thank you. We’ll cash this right away.”
"You're left handed? How did I never notice that?" Lilah mused quietly.
Cameron grinned at her. “Actually, I’m ambidextrous. I usually use my left the most, because I have a weird thing happening with my right hand.” He stuck up his right hand, which was oddly conformed. It almost looked like a left hand, except for the fingers. It was incredibly odd and somewhat disgusting. No wonder he kept it hidden.
"Oh. Still, I don't know how I never noticed that," Lilah said with a shrug. "Anyway, should we go grab the dogs and our things?"
Cameron shifted the bag higher up his shoulder and pocketed his deformed hand. “Sure. Oh, we’ll be moving in right away,” He addressed the lady, who smiled and nodded.
Lilah grabbed his now-free hand and grinned as they walked out to the car. She pulled her keys out and unlocked the Jeep, then made her way over to where Lilac had her nose stuck out of the cracked open window.
"Aw, Lilac," she laughed, tapping on her nose to get her to move before she opened the door. "C'mon, girl. It's time to see our new home!"
Lily was under Lilac’s tummy again and was wriggling happily when they opened the door. Cameron grabbed her up in his left arm, smiling.
“Hi baby! What were you doing down there?”
She yapped happily.
Lilah chuckled and grabbed Lilac's leash from the floor of the vehicle before clipping it to her collar.
"How about I take the dogs and you grab our bags?" she suggested, turning to smile at Cameron.
Cameron grinned at Lilah happily. “Sure. Sounds like a plan.” He handed her his wriggling puppy and started to shoulder the bags.
"Maybe we should leash-train Lily do we don't have to carry her everywhere," Lilah suggested with a laugh as she tried to hold onto the puppy.
Cameron chuckled. “We should train her to do a lot of things. The only thing she’s trained in his potty.”
"Hey, that's good! At least she won't be going potty on the floor," Lilah said with a smile.
Cameron beamed and rubbed Lily’s head. “It is good! She’s such a good learner!”
Lily wiggled happily and barked, licking at Cameron’s fingers.
Lilah chuckled. "You got everything yet?"
“Oh, yep. I got everything.” He beamed at her and straightened up.
"Great! Let's go move in!" Lilah enthused.
Cameron nodded happily. “Let’s. Lead the way!”
Lilah giggled and adjusted her grip on Lily as she headed inside. She pushed the button for the elevator when they reached it.
Cameron followed her, until they reached their new apartment. Cameron set the stuff down on the comfy looking couch, gazing around happily.
“This is wonderful.”
"It's perfect. So… Are we sharing a room, or…?" Lilah trailed off with a blush.
Cameron turned a faint shade of red himself. “If-if you want. I don’t care if we do or not.” Though he’d much rather they sleep together. He loved sleeping with her and waking up beside her.
"I'd like that," Lilah whispered softly, chewing on her bottom lip.
Cameron smiled a little. “I would too.”
Lilah smiled up at him for a moment before setting Lily down. She bent over to unhook Lilac's leash, freeing her to roam the apartment, before looking at Cameron again. With a small, happy smile, she took a step closer to him.
"I really love you, Cameron Metzler," she whispered, looking into his eyes.
Lily barked happily and ran around the apartment, beckoning Lilac to play by ducking her little body and barking.
Cameron smiled and straightened up to gaze back. “I really love you too, Lilah Latosa.”
Lilah grinned at him for a moment longer, then sighed and leaned forward to rest her forehead on his chest. "I like this…"
