Cameron kissed her nose then her lips softly. “Mhm. Let’s get to walking.”
Cameron kissed her nose then her lips softly. “Mhm. Let’s get to walking.”
Lilah pecked his lips back gently.
"All right," she sighed with a smile.
Cameron smothered her for a few more moments and let her go.
“Alright indeeeeeed. Let’s go.” He lifted up Lily again.
Lilah snorted, still blushing and smiling from being smothered.
"Yup. Let's go on that walk," she agreed, tugging on Lilac's leash a bit.
Cameron trotted off a few feet then turned around. “You’re still all the way back there?”
"Lilac's being a pain," Lilah explained, still tugging on the leash. "C'mon, girl. Walk?"
Lilac's ears perked up again, and she started walking with Lilah like nothing had happened, causing her to sigh and shake her head.
Cameron laughed. “I love her. She’s such a stubborn dog.”
"Always has been, always will be," Lilah agreed with a chuckle.
Cameron rubbed Lilac’s face. “Lily is more stubborn, though.” He beamed.
(You're a detective, now?
Can you find my missing sanity?)
"I honestly have a hard time believing that," Lilah said, glancing at the puppy.
(Unfortunately I can’t find my own.)
Lily barked loudly in response and started happily licking Cameron’s hand, wagging her small tail.
“You’ll believe it soon.” Cameron gave a gentle chuckle.
(Lol.)
Lilah sighed, her eyes lighting up as she remembered again what they were doing.
"I still can't believe we're doing this," she declared, grinning.
Cameron smiled up at her. “I know, it’s crazy. It’s good for us, though.”
"I know. Oh my gosh, I forgot about telling Liam," Lilah whispered, her eyes widening.
Cameron frowned. He had liked Liam, therefore he decided it was cruel of them not to tell him.
“Well… it was in the middle of the night when we left.”
"Yeah, but I could have left him a note," Lilah said, biting her lip.
“What if someone else got that note, Lilah?” He sighed. “Could you call him on a payphone?”
"I know…" Lilah sighed. She blinked a few times at the mention of a payphone, then broke into a grin. "I brought my cell! I could call him on that!"
Cameron chuckled and rolled his eyes. “Brilliant idea.”
"But I left it in the car, so I'll have to do it after our walk," Lilah said, though she was satisfied that she could do it at all.
Cameron watched her gently. “Alright. If you’re sure.”
Lilah glanced over at him, smiling.
"Honestly, I'm just glad that I'll be able to talk to him," she said softly.
Cameron met her gaze with his wide brown eyes. “I don’t distrust Liam, but what if your father squeezes what we did out of him?”
"He'd figure it out eventually," Lilah said with a shrug. "Plus, I'm not going to tell him where we're going. For all they'll know, we're halfway to Australia by now."
Cameron nodded, looking relieved. “Good. I think we should keep it that way.”
Lilah glanced at Cameron and smiled.
"Hey, Cam?" she said softly.
Cameron looked at her, and returned the smile. “Yes, Lilah?”
"I love you," Lilah said, grinning at him.
“I love you too, Lilah.” He took her hand gently.
Lilah smiled and pecked his cheek happily as they walked. She rested her head on his shoulder gently.
