"Malicious brain cancer." She said quietly and winced again as the lemon water stung one of her newer cuts on her wrist. She waits for more looks of sympathy as the women learned of her cancer.

(lmao me too bud)

"Oh?" Charlie stopped as she registered what Rox had just said. "How long did they say you had left?" She asked quietly, keeping her face blank as she finished cleaning Rox's arm. She put the wet cloth back into the water bucket and dry cloth to dry the remaining water on her arm and wrist. She then picked up the roll of spider-web gauze, careful not to let it stick to anything beside's Rox's wrist as she firmly wrapped it in the material.

"A week or two." She admitted, her face also blank but her eyes a bit sad. She flinched again as Charlie went near her wrist. "Anyhow, all I know about you is that your name is Charlie. What's your favorite color?" She asked.

@RedTheLoveless

"I don't really have a favorite color… but my favorite color scheme is the sunset," Charlie answered softly, making sure the gauze would hold before letting go. "And what about you, Roxanne?" Charlie turned around and crouched down to look through some drawers for dried bundles of herbs and placed them on top of the bedstand. She then stood up and plucked a juicy leaf from an aloe plant on the bedstand and turned back to Rox.

"Purple! I also really like galaxy colors, well space in general. I was studying to be a stellar astronomer before I was diagnosed with the tumor." She rambles for a bit about space. "So, what do you do for a living? Are you studying anything?"

(thank you Duskie (do you want me to call you Macy instead or nah…?))

"I'm, what you could say, a healer of sorts. So you may just be in luck if I can find the right ingredients. It may be a bit late in the season, but I think I can track down some feverfew and burdock root, and some…" Charlie turned off into mumbling her list of ingredients that could help shrink, stop, and if not then cure a brain tumor. She squished some of the cool aloe juice out onto Rox's arms, making sure to cover all the cuts in the plant's sticky insides of healing. She gently spread it around, taking her time to double check her own work, but very careful not to get it on the gauze.

I don't really care, I just use Dusk cause it's gender neutral and Macy isn't//
"A healer, that's awesome!" Rox gushed, pretty much seeing all the wheels turning in the women in front of her head. She didn't understand why anyone would want to help her, no one before has wanted to… not even Rox's own parents had wanted to help, with anything. They had just sent her to the hospital to die a slow death.

@RedTheLoveless

(alrighty then, Dusk you are)

"Yes, I am a healer of unconventional sciences… A week you said?" Charlie asked critically as she moved on to dabbing the aloe on the scratches on the other arm, her mind traveling wildly between different plants that would still be in season this late in the year. Not to mention the short time window of a week of rapidly decreasing health if she didn't act quick enough.

Rox pursed her lips. "Yes, and there is nothing anyone can do about it." She sighs, still watching the women in front of her. Hey. She thought At least I met this nice lady before I die.

@RedTheLoveless

"May I try?" Charlie looked up at Rox as she finished rubbing the aloe onto the small cuts and scrapes. She gently took Rox's good hand into her own and stared directly into the woman's eyes. "I'm not making any promises or guarantees, but please just let me try." She was surprised at her own sincerity to Rox.

Rox was going to put up a fight, but then she had looked into Charlie's eyes and she changed her mind. Charlie's eyes kinda resembled a sad puppy, she gave a long sigh and then reluctantly said. "Fine…"
