Cameron waved his knife longingly. “It is real food!”

"No, it's not! And put that knife down before someone gets hurt," Lilah demanded, raising an eyebrow at him.

Cameron set the knife down with a clink and turned to look at her. “We agreed pie was the healthiest food out there.”

"We were messing around, and you know it," Lilah said, still holding the pie away from him.

Cameron shook his long hair out of his face. “In front of pie! How dare you.”

"Cam, please?" Lilah pouted, sticking her bottom lip out.

Cameron huffed. To release this he booped her nose. “Fine.”

Lilah snorted, then rolled her eyes with a smile. "Good," she said, setting the pie back on the table and pecking his lips lightly.

Cameron smiled a little at the peck and grabbed a sandwich. He unwrapped and checked to make sure it was one of his own before biting into it.

Lilah did likewise, glancing down at the dogs as she did so. Lilac had lapped up a lot of her water and was currently laying with her head on her paws, eyes drooping closed.

Lily was still lapping up water now and then, but she laid near her larger dog’s side for warmth.

As she finished her sandwich, Lilah rested her head on Cameron's shoulder. "Let me know when you're done."

Cameron wrapped an arm around Lilah, finishing off his sandwich.
“Done.”

"Ready for pie, then?" Lilah asked without lifting her head, wrapping an arm around him instead.

Cameron grinned over at the pie. “You know I am.”

"Then cut a couple of pieces off, love," Lilah chuckled. "I'm ready for pie."

Cameron plucked up the knife, grinning. He cut a few quick slices and set them on two plates with forks.
“Pie is served.”

"Mm… Thanks," Lilah said, pulling away slightly to take a bite.

Cameron scarfed down the pie slice happily, and within moments it was gone and the plate spotless.

"You just ate that in, like, three bites," Lilah mused staring at him. She was only half done with her own slice.

Cameron grinned at her and burped gently. “You know it!”

"Dude… Seriously?" Lilah chuckled, shaking her head with a smile as she took another bite.

Cameron cut himself another slice. “Yep. I can eat a good pie very quickly.”

"Well I'm limiting you to half so that it's fair," Lilah chuckled as she finished her slice.

Cameron huffed a muffled huff. “You love me too much.”

"Yeah… That's why…" Lilah said, trailing off with a small smile as she took another slice of pie.

Cameron gulped down the second slice of pie and turned to her. “What do you mean by that?”

"Hm? Oh, nothing," Lilah assured him with a smile, before adding under her breath, "Not that I want the other half of it myself…"

Cameron rolled his eyes and stretched. “You can have the rest.”

Lilah shrugged as she finished her second one. "How 'bout we save it?"
