Cameron sighed softly and looked away. “You were doing a great job. I just wasn’t expecting to be dragged outside today. I just wanted to stay home with you and watch a few movies.” He didn’t blame her at all for what’s happening, it was of course a miscommunication between her and her twin. He couldn’t blame anyone for that.
"We could have done that. You said you were okay with this, so I thought you really were," Lilah sighed, closing her eyes for a moment. When she opened them, she was looking at Cameron softly. "We can still go back if you want. They don't have to stay with us, they could go stay in a hotel for today."
“It’s because I am okay with it. I can pull through.” He smiled a little. “Let’s go catch up.” He took her hand slowly.
"All right," Lilah breathed, reaching up to peck him on the lips. She squeezed his hand gently when she pulled away, saying in a soft whisper, "Remember that I love you."
Cameron smiled a little and nodded. “Remember I love you too.” He pecked her nose.
Lilah smiled up at him, glad they'd gotten past whatever it was that he'd been upset about. "Okay, catching up to the other two, now…" She trailed off as she turned back to the others and started toward them.
Cameron dragged along with her, hurrying his pace to keep up with Lilah. “Yes, keeping up. More like dragging your boyfriend after.” He laughed gently.
"Hey, I had to stop to make sure he was okay because I was worried about him. The least he can do is keep up with me," Lilah chuckled.
Cameron turned a faint shade of red but grinned anyway. Soon the pair caught up with Liam and Jess, which made Cameron lapse back into silence.
Lilah sighed and squeezed his hand gently. Whatever it was, they'd get through it…
"So, the lake isn't much farther from here," she said, gaining the attention of her brother and his fiancée.
"All right. It's really pretty over here," Jess mused with a smile.
"Isn't it? That's part of the reason we chose our suite, since it overlooks the lake," Lilah said, remembering the first time she and Cameron had seen the apartment.
Cameron hummed softly. It was a very nice view. He’d still get up early in the day to walk to the view and watch the sun rise. He glanced up at the burning sun overhead. It was annoyingly hot on the top of his head. He envied the lighter-colored hair of the three before him. Maybe not Liam and Lilah, but they did have lighter, shorter hair than he.
(Lilah has brown hair, as does Cameron. Lol.)
A few minutes later, they reached the lake. Lilah took the towel from around her and laid it on the sand to lay down on it. Liam and Jess laid their towels beside each other, but they made their way to the water instead of sitting in the sun.
(Ya I know xD But Cameron has darker hair than what was in her picture.)
Cameron set his towel next to Lilah’s but away from Liam and Jess’. He sat down next to her and grinned a little.
“You’re not going to get burned this time, are you? Cuz I brought the sun lotion if you learned your lesson.” He wiggled the bottle that he nabbed.
(Does he? It looked the same to me…)
Lilah snorted and rolled her eyes. "I probably should use it this time," she sighed, holding her hand out for it.
(Ya. The picture I used for his hairstyle is not canon to his hair color.)
Cameron turned the bottle upside down and gave her some. “Great idea. Unlike myself and my amazing Italian origins, you burn.” He nudged her playfully.
(Ah, okay.)
"Downsides to Irish ancestors," Lilah chuckled, spreading the lotion on her arms, legs, and chest. "Could you do my face, please?"
Cameron put a bit on his thumb and rubbed it on her cheeks, her chin, forehead and below her nose and lips.
“Do you want me to do your back?”
"Yeah, would you?" Lilah asked, turning her back to him and lifting her hair up.
Cameron put a nice amount of the lotion on his hand and started to rub it on her neck and down. He hummed as he did so, making sure to evenly apply the lotion.
Lilah sighed. Cameron's rubbing her back felt nice, even if it was just to put the lotion on.
Cameron used his thumb to rub in the last of the lotion and shut the cap. “Alright. There you go.” He grinned and rubbed his hands across his rather tan neck. He didn’t burn in many places, but his neck was one of those places.
(I totally didn't even see this… What the heck…)
"Thanks, Cam," Lilah said, turning to smile at him before she laid down on her back. She used her hand to shield her eyes from the bright sun and soaked up the warmth.
Cameron grinned at her and stayed sitting up. The sun was nice on his face, he rose his chin a little to bask in it. He half-closed his eyes so it stayed out of his face and stretched out his legs happily.
"It's so nice out," Lilah murmured, closing her eyes. "I missed the warmth."
Cameron dug his hands into the warm sand. It was rather coarse but it was still pleasant on the hands. “Mmm… it was missed. But the winter was nice here, too. A lot less tourists.”
"Yeah, winter was good. A lot warmer than back at home," Lilah agreed with a hum.
“I wonder if we’ll be able to ice skate on it again. Remember that one day it was like, twenty degrees and we went? It was a ton of fun.”
"Oh, yeah! That was a good day," Lilah sighed as she remembered it. She'd had a lot of fun, even if her butt was sore afterwards. "Maybe they'll open a skating rink here if it doesn't freeze over."
Cameron smiled. “That’d be fun. You could learn how to skate.” He nudged her playfully with a laugh, even though he’d fallen a lot too.
"Hey, I can skate! I'm not going to be winning the Olympics any times soon, but I can still stay on my feet… Mostly," Lilah laughed, turning her head to look at him.
