Valerie let out a sigh of relief as she walked closer. A smile appearing on her face, "Thank God. One is better than none, I'm Valerie."

"I'm Catriona, but you can call me Cat," she said, not smiling but not frowning either. "Where did you come from?" she asked.

“The woods? Geography is hard at the moment given the post apocalyptic terrain,” Valerie said with a slight sigh, “But it’s great to meet you Cat.”

After stocking up, Quinn sighed and decided to go for a walk. Nothing bad was going to happen right? Besides, she couldn't stay in one place for long. Just in case, Quinn took her twin pistols with her. It still unnerved her how everything was so silent in the post-apocalyptic world when she so used to the sounds of the city. Quinn turned on her music, sure it was..oldish, but it wasn't like any new music was going to come out any time soon.

Nadia tried her best to keep her excitement contained. She had met two people in one day after believing that she was the only one left on Earth.

“The woods? Geography is hard at the moment given the post apocalyptic terrain,” Valerie said with a slight sigh, “But it’s great to meet you Cat.”

"Yes, lovely to meet you," she said with a small smile. Cat turned to Nadia. "Were you going anywhere in particular?" she asked.

"I've been searching for other people for months now. Now that I've found you two…I don't know what I'll do." Nadia muttered. "I guess…we'll just try to survive."

"Alright," she said. "But if either of you two are trying to . . . rebuild society then we should probably try to find someone male. Orrrr try and travel to other continents and countries and see how the rest of the world is doing." She shrugged. "Just some options."

"The rest of the world is dead," Valerie stated, "Animals are rampant. Service is down, and the world as we knew it ended. Now all that really is left to do is figure out how to clone ourselves so we can begin repopulation. Shouldn't be that hard."

“Hold on, hold on,” Cat said. “First of all cloning ourselves would take technology we very much do not have. Second of all who are you? Why are you so certain the rest of the world is completely gone?”

"I introduced myself earlier, I'm Valerie. Also cloning ourselves wouldn't be as difficult as one might think. All we need is our body cells and a way for them to multiply themselves easily. So cloning isn't completely out of the question. As to your last question I'm not certain, but given the fact it took this long to find another human companion I would think the human population is far below 1% of it's previous population."

“Not necessarily,” Cat said, crossing her arms. “The world is vast, it’s very possible we’re just spread out. There are other places that aren’t even connected to where we are by land. How can you be certain it’s just as bad there?”

“Basic hypothesis and theories. There all dead and if there are other people they would just as spread out as we were,” Valerie crossed arms over her stomach.

“Just because this particular area is spread out doesn’t mean every where else is,” Cat said. “And you don’t know they’re all dead,” she said, glaring a bit.

Valerie glared back, “I bet until today you thought you were the only one alive. Am I wrong?”

“Yes, as a matter of fact, you are. I knew, logically that I couldn't possibly be the last one alive. And look at that, I was right.”

“Well congratulations you were right,” Valerie said, “In that one infinitesimal way.”

“Actually, you lot aren’t even the last people I’ve seen in the last two months. You’re the only ones I’ve interacted with, but I have seen others.”

“They could have been hallucinations due to the lack of human interaction.”

“They were not hallucinations, as I stole this from them,” she said, pulling a water filter out of her bag. “And don’t worry, they had others.”

"Look, I'm all for trying to figure out what's going on but can we do it on the road? I don't want wild animals to attack us while we're arguing over how many people are left on Earth." Nadia butted in, nervously looking around.

Cat sighed. "Yes, you're right, we should go." She opened the passenger side door and sat down, putting her bag on her lap.

As Quinn walked, she heard voices. That was normal, however, she talked to herself a lot due to the lack of human interaction, but when she saw the sight of people in a car, that shocked her.

"Alright then, lets go." Nisha sat in the driver's seat and started up the car. It felt strange talking to actual people instead of herself, but it was strange in a good way.

Val got into the back of the car. She was actually talking to other people, it had been forever.

Quinn stepped over to the side as she watched the people in the car, they seemed friendly enough, but should she reveal herself?

Cat looked in her rearview mirror, watching the grass and trees, when she spotted something. She looked closer and put her head in her left hand. She dragged it down her face. "Oh my god," she muttered. Cat looked at Nadia. "Another one."

"Another?! Can I look at them this time?" Nadia replied quietly, trying her best to contain her excitement. Three people in less than an hour…this was an amazing day.

Cat sighed. "Yes. If you let me talk to her first you can even let her in the car if you want. But don't blame me if you get shot."
