“I’m always impossible!” Cameron agreed with a beam. He seemed very happy.
“I’m always impossible!” Cameron agreed with a beam. He seemed very happy.
"You're not, though," Lilah argued. "Sometimes, you actually listen."
Cameron laughed gently. “True, true.” He waved a hand gently and set it on her shoulder.
Lilah smiled and rested her head on his hand for a moment before she lifted it again to take a sip of her water.
Cameron smiled and rested his arm on the rest between them. “When should we switch, Lilah?”
"Whenever you're ready to," Lilah said as she set the water bottle down in a cup holder.
Cameron shrugged. “It’s up to you. You’re the one driving.”
"And that's my choice. As soon as you can drive, tell me," Lilah said with a smile.
Cameron smiled back. “I’ll drive after breakfast, deal?”
"Deal," Lilah said with a nod. "What time is it, anyway?"
“Time doesn’t matter to us anymore,” Cameron answered wistfully.
"Then how am I supposed to know when it's breakfast time?" Lilah asked, her eyebrows furrowing.
“When the sun’s in the sky?” Cameron proposed, looking at her with an eyebrow cocked.
"But how am I supposed to know how far away that is if I don't know the time?" Lilah questioned.
Cameron squinted at the sky. “It looks like it’s about five o’ clock.”
"In the morning?" Lilah asked.
“Yep. Just about.” Cameron grinned at her.
"Hm. Well, you did say you'd drive at five in the morning," Lilah reminded him with a smile.
Cameron smiled slyly back. “We agreed after breakfast.”
"That was after you said what time it is," Lilah pointed out. "So you tricked me. Is it good to trick your girlfriend?"
Cameron blinked a couple times. “I tricked you? I’m a bad boyfriend, then.”
"Nah, you're fine. But how about we eat now so we can switch?" Lilah suggested.
Cameron stuck out his tongue. “Sure. I could eat.”
"Then eat," Lilah chuckled. "I'm not holding you back."
Cameron chuckled too. “Let’s eat together! We should always eat together. It helps with bonding.”
"I can't eat and drive, though, Cam," Lilah pointed out disappointedly.
“Then let’s pull over and find somewhere to eat. Or we could find a little resting place.”
"And stop our progress?" Lilah sighed tiredly.
Cameron gazed at her profile. “Unless you just wanted me to start driving…”
Lilah shrugged and held back a yawn. "Doesn't matter. I guess we could pull over…"
