Cameron shrugged. “Wherever you’d like, Lilah.”
Cameron shrugged. “Wherever you’d like, Lilah.”
"Hm…" Lilah thought for a bit as she made the sandwich. She finished it, then decided that three was probably enough. "Why don't we look at a map before we decide?"
Cameron bagged up his sandwiches and set them into the cooler. “Map looking sounds good.”
Lilah nodded in agreement as she packed her sandwiches away. "I'll be right back; I'm going to get ice for the cooler."
Cameron blinked. “Maybe I should come with you.”
"It's just in the freezer right over there," Lilah said, pointing to the large walk-in beside the fridge. She smiled gently at Cameron. "But you can come if you want."
Cameron bit his lip. “Righteo. Sorry. I’ll wait out here.”
"All right," Lilah said with a light laugh as she started toward the freezer. She walked inside to grab a bag of ice, but had underestimated how heavy it would be. A few minutes later, after struggling to get it out herself, she called for Cameron.
Cameron’s head poked into the cooler. “Yes, Lilah?” He spotted her predicament. “Need help?”
"Please," Lilah breathed. She was currently trying to keep the bag of ice from falling on her head from the second shelf, and she grimaced in concentration.
Camerom walked over, stretched over her and thrust the bag of ice back on the shelf, careful not to hit Lilah.
“Alright. Where’s the bag of ice?”
"Well, that was one of them… They're all on that shelf," Lilah said, leaning back slightly into his chest.
Cameron looked down at her, stooping his head. “I thought we only needed one?”
"We do… But I couldn't manage to get one down without almost killing myself," Lilah admitted with a light blush.
Cameron stroked her hair gently and took down a bag of ice with a grunt. “Let’s get going.”
(My grandma stopped by to drop something off, and she felt bad that I'm sick… I convinced her to go buy me the ice cream that I've been craving all day. Lol. She's great.)
"All right," Lilah sighed, pulling away reluctantly. She stepped out of the freezer, holding the door open for Cameron.
(Niiiice)
Cameron kissed her head and lugged the ice out to the cooler that he had set up. The catch, it was on the ground.
(Ikr? She's the best.)
Lilah smiled at the kiss and closed the door behind them. She saw Cameron standing by the door and chuckled softly. "Need some help?"
Cameron stared down at the little plastic carrier. “Yeah. The cooler’s… on the ground.”
"Would you like me to put it on the counter?" Lilah asked, laughing a bit as she made her way closer.
“Yes please.” Cameron smiled bashfully at her, his face warm.
Lilah smiled and did so, opening the lid for him, too. "There ya go."
Cameron tore open the bag with his teeth. “Thanks, Lilah.” He smiled at her and started scooping handfuls of ice carefully into the cooler.
Lilah leaned against the counter for a moment before she snapped her fingers, suddenly remembering something.
"I almost forgot the pie!" she exclaimed as she started toward the fridge again.
Cameron looked up when she snapped. “The pie?” His numb-with-cold fingers tingled.
"The apple pie that we were going to have," Lilah reminded him as she stepped into the large fridge. She glanced around for a moment and found a pre-made and already-cooked pie, then grabbed it and walked back over to Cameron and the cooler.
Cameron smiled as she approached. The pie… mmm… He shook himself out of his stupor and stuck his arms out for the pie.
“I’ll pack it and a few plates with silverware.”
"Good idea," Lilah said, handing it to him with a smile. "I'll go get some real quick."
Cameron smiled back. “Thanks.” He turned to the cooler.
Lilah bounced off to grab a few plates and a handful of silverware. Upon her return, she handed them to Cameron, smiling softly at him.
"I can't believe we're actually going to do this…"
