Matt stares at her, not knowing what to say. "Agents?… And Government agents at that? Why….why would they be everywhere? Are they trying to catch a criminal? An evil one?"

Ann sighed. “No, they’re keeping an eye on all of the richer Segrements. The Fourth is one of the richest.”

matt whistles lowly. "I see, but if they're rich then what harm could they possibly do? It's not like they're gonna revolt against the government, they have everything they need"

“That’s the point. They just want protection. A lot of them are funding gov’t plans for revolutions of industry, so they hang around to make sure that no one gets hurt.” She gave a sigh.

'Ah. That would make sense…." Matt gives a slight smile. "Well, as long as they don't get in our way we should be fine, right?"

“As long as we don’t get in their way, then yes, we should be okay.” Ann nodded, curling her fingers together idly.

"Well, snap. So, I'm just thinking out loud here…what would happen if we got in their way? Would they arrest us? Beat us up?" Matt asks.

Ann sighed. “I have no idea. They’d probably shoot you if you do anything shifty. They’d shoot anything these days, though…” She shook her head.

Matt looks at her with a sort of terrified look on his face what the heck did I get myself into by coming here Then smiles nervously "O-oh…Awesome sauce."

Ann gave a gentle laugh. “Yep, it’s just greeaaaaaaaaaaaaaat.”

Mat smiles and nods, staying quiet as the train seem to go on forever. "Do you when we'll get there? It seems like it's a long way from where you got picked up at"

“It’s the Fourth Segrement, I just got picked up from the Second… a few days. Maybe one in a half if we’re lucky.”

Matt's eyes widen a bit "wow, then I was so wrong this would only take a few hours, let alone a few minutes…"

She smiled warmly at him. “Would you like a pillow, dear? I have a couple here with me.”

Matt stares at her "You carry pillows around with you? Damn…I need to get my priorities straight…" Then he nods in response. "I would sure as hell love a fluffy pillow"

Ann laughed and tugged a pillow out of her small bag. “There you go! I have more comfortable ones at home you can use once we get there.”

Matt nods as he takes the pillow. "Thanks, much appreciated. So do I just go to sleep now? Or is it like a lap warmer?" He jokes at the end there.

Ann gave a gentle laugh, swatting playfully at Matt’s arm. “I can move and you can stretch out and sleep. Unless you wanted to work something else out.”

Matt smiles and shakes his head "No! No! You don't have to move, I could just put the pillow on the window like so…" He puts the pillow against the window. "Then put my head against the pillow." He says demonstrating and puts his head on the pillow and closes his eyes "See? it's a win-win, I hope." He opens his eyes and looks at her "But of course if you wanna move then that's okay with me too"

Ann shook her head. “No, I won’t move, I will if you want the room. Though, that is a brilliant idea, nice job.” She applauded him.

Matt wasn't sure if she was mocking him for being an idiot, but he decided to take it as a compliment. "T-thanks? And alright, that's good enough for me" He smiles warmly at her.

Ann smiled warmly at him, assuring him she wasn’t being sarcastic. “Anyway, have a nice rest.” She sat back in her seat and pulled out another book.

Matt nodded and stared at her blankly for a few minutes before struggling to turn sideways in a comfortable position. He layed his head on the pillow which was against the window sill and looked out the window as everything passed in a blur, eventually, he fell asleep at some point.

It was a couple days later, after various conversations between Ann and Matt, they got off on the Fourth Segrement.
“Ahh, here we are.” Ann exhaled as they jumped off. The air even smelled expensive here, not to mention the white-marble tilings (making it mall-like), with fountains of pure water.

Matt got off along with Ann and looked around Damn, even the air smells nice here He gives Ann a nervous glace, it was his first time here after all. Then he had a worrying though. What if he messed up? "Nice place…" He said in a low voice.

Ann hummed. “Indeed it is. Just keep walking and keep your head down. We’re here for the market, which is just up the hill.”

Matt didn't know how scary the place could be, but he definitely didn't want to find out, so he nods and does as he is told. "alright…" He mumbles.
(also, sorry for the late response. Notebook is crashing on me like every millisecond)
