Cameron shrugged. “So? I carry my family’s name.”
Cameron shrugged. “So? I carry my family’s name.”
"Yeah, but a name doesn't define you. That's like saying you're a cheeseburger because your last name is McDonald," Lilah sighed.
Cameron sighed and laid back too, letting Lily go. The pup whined and curled up on his chest.
"I'm sorry," Lilah whispered.
Cameron looked at her. “It’s not your fault, Lilah.”
"It feels like it," Lilah said, barely even whispering this time.
Cameron hugged her carefully, considering the puppy.
“It’s not.” He whispered this just as quietly.
"…If you're sure…" Lilah murmured, hugging him back.
Cameron leaned his head into hers. “I’m sure.”
"Okay," Lilah whispered, bumping their noses together.
Lily borked gently between them, an obvious obstacle. Cameron glanced down at her and relaxed into the bed with a sigh.
"Dogs are always in the way," Lilah joked with a light chuckle.
Lily barked softly at her, wiggling her tail. Cameron chuckled and pet his pup.
“Indeed they do.”
Lilah rubbed Lily's head with a smile. "But we love them anyway."
Lily barked softly at her, licking her fingers and wiggling.
“Yes we do,” Cameron answered softly, still disturbed from his treatment.
"Cam… I'm really sorry about what he said. He had no right to say any of that," Lilah said softly, glancing at him in worry.
Cameron rested his big hands on Lily’s small back. He shrugged slightly and continued petting her, not responding.
"Cameron, I meant what I said to him. I don't care about your families history," Lilah stated, pushing herself up on one arm so she could get a better look at him. "And I do love you."
Lily barked and looked up at Cameron’s face, wiggling her tail.
“What do you think your parents will do about it, though?” He worriedly glanced up at her.
"I don't know," Lilah sighed, biting her lip and looking down. "I don't know…"
Cameron leaned his head on her shoulder. “We can’t let it split us… though.”
"It won't. If I can do anything about it, it won't split us," Lilah declared determinedly.
(I have an idea, but I want to surprise you with it. ;D So you'll have to wait until another encounter with the king.)
(hUh have hm like, knock on the door or call them down idc)
Cameron shut his eyes, nodding. “It won’t. We won’t let it.”
(No, you've gotta wait… It'll happen eventually, but Cameron might not be there… grins evilly)
Lilah sighed and fell back onto the bed. "Maybe Liam wouldn't make such a bad king…"
(grrrrrrr)
Cameron gave her a worried look. “I don’t want you to give up th crown because of me, Lilah.”
(Mwahaha…
Oh, hey! Another idea! What if they do something that convinces Lilah's parents that Cameron is good with her?)
"Yeah, well, I don't really want it, anyway," Lilah admitted quietly, biting her lip as she stared at her ceiling.
(I think we should do your idea first)
Cameron relaxed into her, his head still resting on her shoulder.
“A-are you sure?”
(Yeah, that's what I was planning.)
"I mean, yeah, I guess… Liam's better with people than I am, but I've had more training to ascend to the throne," Lilah sighed. "Plus, I'd be the first Queen on the throne, so…"
(Then ya sure sounds great!)
Cameron hugged her. “I don’t think you should. You deserve the throne.”
(Cool beans.)
Lilah buried her face in Cameron's shoulder and let out a shuddering sigh. "I'll think about it."
