"That's all I've got, puppers," Lilah laughed as Lilac sniffed at Cameron's hand again.
"That's all I've got, puppers," Lilah laughed as Lilac sniffed at Cameron's hand again.
Lily gave a faint whine from her little spot, growing restless.
"We should go now, when the dogs are at bay."
"That's a good idea. Hop in, then," Lilah said with a smile as she walked over to the driver's side.
Cameron jogged over to the car and hopped into the passenger's. He buckled in and relaxed into the seat, humming as he looked around the inside.
The key was already in the ignition, and some radio station was playing old Country music. Lilah climbed in and glanced over at Cameron with a smile.
"You ready?" she asked as she buckled herself in.
Cameron looked at her with a grin on his face. "Absolutely! Let us go!"
(My sister just got the employee handbook for her first job and, apparently, they cover dating and driving…)
"Yay! Burgers!" Lilah laughed as she carefully backed out of the driveway.
(Timeskip?)
(Wait dating and driving? In the same unit? Also, yaaaas skip to when?)
(Just, like, in general I think…
But she's not allowed to pick up hitchhikers. Lol.
When they arrive, maybe?)
(Ahhhhh.
That sounds like common sense more than anything xD
Sure, sounds good.)
(You're going to make me start, aren't you?)
(._.
when you phrase it like that it makes me feel bad)
(Lol. I didn't mean to, sorry. It's okay if you want me to.)
(Please do start.)
(Okie-doke.)
Lilah parked the Jeep in front of the small, old-fashioned diner. And by "old-fashioned" that meant, like, 1950's era old.
"Ta-da!" she said as they stopped.
(Thanks)
Cameron let out a low whistle, scrutinizing the diner. "I didn't think it'd be this retro!" He gave a gentle laugh as he stepped out of the car.
(^ . ^)
"Well… What can I say? I've got a thing for old-fashioned things?" Lilah admitted with a shy smile and shrug.
Cameron smiled at her. "It's not a problem. It looks so nice and quaint!" He stuck out his hand.
"Shall we?"
(Sorry; lunch and math.)
"We shall," Lilah grinned, taking his hand.
Cameron gave her hand a little squeeze and opened the diner door, then inside. He looked around the heavily A/Ced restaurant. It was full of rickety little tables, red, worn booths, a white and red counter with matching metal stools and somewhere in the back, was an actual A/C unit and a jukebox.
"Hello there!" A motherly, plump looking waitress trotted up. She had her messy brown hair tied up into a bun and kind blue eyes that sparkled when she saw the pair. "Go take a seat, I'll be right with y'all."
"Thank you," Lilah said with a grin as she gently tugged Cameron over to a booth near a window. "Ugh, I'm starving…"
Cameron laughed gently and sat down first, generally unsure if Lilah wanted to sit next to him or across from him.
"We could've left sooner, you know."
"Eh…" Lilah shrugged, sitting across from him while still holding his hand. "I didn't want to get up, though."
Cameron smiled a little. "It was very comfortable like that, I'll give you that."
"Yes, it was," Lilah agreed with a grin. She glanced down at the menu and flipped it open with her free hand. "Will you want anything besides a burger?"
Cameron looked down at the menu. "I guess we need drinks. And we should take a look at the sides." He flipped open his menu.
"I'm just getting a water, bacon cheeseburger, and fries. They have the best fries," Lilah declared, looking back up at Cameron with a grin.
Cameron raised an eyebrow. "Water? Why not a soda?" Cameron couldn't help but grin back, though.
Lilah shrugged. "I just don't really care much for pop. I mean, lemonade is good, but I just don't feel like getting that today… Oh, maybe I'll get a shake!"
Cameron chuckled. "A milkshake? Have you had one before? I haven't."
