"What, did you have a better idea?" Lilah asked as she rubbed at the puppy's face.
Lilac laid down at their feet, her muzzle resting on her forepaws. She watched the younger dog with a tilted head.
"What, did you have a better idea?" Lilah asked as she rubbed at the puppy's face.
Lilac laid down at their feet, her muzzle resting on her forepaws. She watched the younger dog with a tilted head.
Cameron gave a gentle laugh at Lilac.
"They might be hungry?" He suggested with a shrug.
"Or both… But you're probably right," Lilah admitted with a chuckle. "Though I'm sure they were fed by someone. Liam might have fed them, too."
Cameron gave a light chuckle of his own. "Should we go sit down, then?"
"Maybe… The car should be here any second, though," Lilah said. As if on cue, a maroon Jeep Wrangler pulled up in front of the castle, and Lilah grinned upon seeing it.
Cameron hummed. "I forgot you called for that. "He laughed at himself. "Let's go, then!"
Lilah giggled as she made her way toward the car. She was practically bouncing on her toes as she walked, that's how excited she was.
Cameron tailed her, noting and smiling at her excitement. Lily bounded after them, like a barking, white-brown-black bullet.
Lilah laughed and stopped when they reached the car.
"Lily, you can't come with. You'd only end up being tied to a pole outside."
Cameron picked up the puppy. "Stay here, girl. Stay here with Lilac and- hey, where did Liam run off to?" Cameron looked around as if expecting Liam to burst out of the bushes.
Lilah shrugged. "He probably went to practice with the weaponry."
Cameron frowned. "If there's no one to keep an eye on Lily, there's no telling what she'll do."
"Um… One second." Lilah pulled her phone out of her poket and sent a quick text. She received a reply soon after sending it. "Okay, that's covered!"
Cameron blinked at her. "Who'd you text?"
Lily wiggled restlessly in Cameron's grasp.
"Just the staff," Lilah explained with a shrug. "Now… Driving."
Cameron walked away a few steps and put Lily down. “Stay.” She sat. He walked away, Lily hopped up and bounded after him.
Lilah laughed and reached into her pocket. She pulled out a small dog biscuit and handed it to Cameron.
"Here. Try this."
Lily borked loudly as Lilah pulled out the treat. She ran over to her, jumped around a couple times then sat at her feet, panting.
"No, Lily. You don't get this until you listen. Cameron, take this and try again," Lilah directed.
Cameron gave his pup a little grin and took the treat. He walked over to a spot away from the car. Lily followed happily, wiggling excitedly.
"Sit," Cameron commanded her.
She sat.
Cameron nodded. "Good girl. Stay."
Lily barked a couple times and Cameron turned heel. Lily stood, Cameron whipped around.
"Sit!"
She sat again, whining.
Lilah watched with an amused smile. Ah, the good old days of training a puppy. She was glad that Lilac was already trained, now. The dog was sitting near where Lily was, and she sniffed the puppy when she whined.
Lily whined at Lilac, leaning forward out of her sitting stance.
"Lily, sit!"
She straightened up again, whining loudly, showing puppy-dog eyes.
Cameron rolled his eyes. "Stay." He turned away.
Lily hopped up again, wiggling towards Lilac for assistance.
(I just got an email from the University of Nebraska… How did they even get my email?!?)
Lilac barked at the puppy commandingly. Stay.
(They are magical)
Lily wiggled slightly and sat down suddenly. She whined again, as if unsure.
"Good girl," Cameron pet her head gently. "Now stay." He turned and walked away.
Heeding Lilac, Lily stayed, though she whined.
(I also get mail from a college in Pensacola, Florida… But that's because they're affiliated with some curriculum we got one year for school. But I've been getting it for, like, three years…)
"Huh. Apparently Lilac knows how to make her stay. That's good to know, I guess," Lilah mused, nodding slowly.
(Jeez you got colleges crawling to you!)
Cameron raised his eyebrows and walked back over to Lily, carefully giving her the treat.
“I guess so. Good girl… good girl Lily.” He stroked the pup’s head.
(Yeah… Idek why.
They couldn't have gotten my gpa or ACT score… Could they?)
Lilac sniffed at Cameron's hand, expecting a treat for herself. After all, hadn't see been a good girl, too?
(Yeah, Colleges can see that stuff.)
Cameron looked at Lilac and rubbed her head. "Do you have a treat for Lilac?"
(Yeah, but I'm homeschooled… I mean, the ACT score I understand, but not my gpa.)
Lilah hummed and dug in her pockets. She pulled out a light pink treat and handed it to Cameron with a smile.
"Yeah, here," she said, walking over to him.
(Still, they'd be sent that stuff somehow.)
Cameron took it gently, smiling warmly at Lilah. "Thanks!" He turned to Lilac and gave her the treat. Lily barked for another softly.
