No. I think it might have slipped from that pretty head of yours. Clearly mind reading and telekinesis are what you were going to tell me at some point…
No. I think it might have slipped from that pretty head of yours. Clearly mind reading and telekinesis are what you were going to tell me at some point…
Kasey blushed and rolled her eyes. "Yeah, I meant to do that at some point. Sorry," she said with a sheepish smile.
Don't worry about it, I know now so it's fine babe. He sighed and buried his face into the mattress.
"Okay…" Kasey sighed. "Maybe we should google what's wrong with your throat or something. Or, ya know, go to the doctor."
No, no it's fine… I'm sure it'll clear up soon. Liam insisted, rolling over a little.
"I hope so. This is going to give me a migraine if it goes on much longer," Kasey declared, rubbing her temples.
I'll shut up then… Liam sighed a little and sat up, he mimed that he was going to get a drink and crawled off the bed.
"No, Liam, that's not what I meant… Gosh, sorry," Kasey sighed, closing her eyes.
Liam looked over his shoulder and gave her a look as if to say 'it's fine' and walked out to the kitchen to get a glass of water.
Kasey glanced up right as he looked over at her and bit her lip when he turned back around. She really hoped he hadn't taken that the wrong way. The headaches just came with the powers, and she couldn't get rid of them no matter how hard she tried.
Liam sighed and grabbed a glass from the kitchen, pouring some some cold water into the cup and downing it before grabbing another.
Harper stood up from the couch where he was watching a video on his phone and made his way to the kitchen. He glanced over at Liam with a raised eyebrow.
"Hey, man. You know I'm supposed to be the slave for the day?" he joked.
Liam rolled his eyes and nodded in understanding with a small smile.
"Voice not working or something?" Harper asked, going to the fridge to grab a thing of cherry yogurt.
Liam nodded again and placed his cup in the sink with a sigh.
"Kasey do the thing where she reads your mind?" Harper questioned as he spooned yogurt into his mouth.
Liam nodded, turning around to looked at Harper. He pointed to his head before mouthing 'headache'
"Oh. Yeah, she hates those. I think they make her snap at people easier," Harper mumbled around a mouthful of yogurt.
Liam grinned and nodded, running a hand though his hair.
(Kids do not listen well sometimes…)
"Sorry, am I bothering you? Feel free to go be with my sister whenever you like. You've made her really happy," Harper told him with a small grin. "Well, most of the time, anyway."
(Most of the time)
Liam rolled his eyes and gave him a look to say he's not bothering him. He gave him a small smile in return to his.
(Not the ones I babysit. They're pretty well behaved. Except for bedtime…)
Harper chuckled. "So, how long have you two known each other?"
(Lol, I don't have to babysit that often)
Liam shrugged and took out his phone and opened his notes to wrote his reply.
'since we moved in pretty much… I think'
(Every Tuesday night until February, I think…)
"So quite a while, then," Harper said with a nod, eating another spoonful of yogurt. "And it was just about a week or two ago that you started dating?"
Liam nodded and wrote something down again.
'No offense man but I feel like I'm being interrogated.'
Harper laughed. "Sorry, sorry. Just trying to make conversation, you know? And the topic at hand happens to be my sister," he said with a shrug.
'I know I know. What's it like to have a sibling? Or family for that matter?'
Liam bit his lip and hesitated for a moment before showing Harper the screen.
Harper glanced down at the screen and his gaze softened. He put his yogurt down, then rubbed the back of his neck as he leaned against the counter.
"Honestly? It can be a lot of work… When your parents aren't there to raise you or your sister, it gets hard. Stressful. And then she got her powers around the same time as… well, as plenty of other things. I had no idea what to do for the longest time," he said softly, running his hand through his hair. "But it's good. I love her, and I hope her life turns out amazing."
Liam nodded and sighed.
'Yeah, but you had each other and that's better then nothing. She's an amazing girl, and I have no doubt life will be good to her.'
"I hope so," Harper sighed. He smiled at Liam again. "You should go back to her. I'm sure she's missing you."
