Keri nodded and replied "that shouldn't be too hard to find." She looked down the street that they were on and proceeded to see no ice machines by the stores. "well scratch that.." she said.

"It takes some wondering when in a new city and I guess wile we're out would should keep an eye open for places to 'eat'. From the fact that I'm the only with out wings makes me think I'm the only one needing a club atmosphere." Azora smiled. "The rest of you'll be flocking to churches and parks wile I go clubbing," She started to laugh, "it just seems a little absurd."
"i'm only half angel.."Fiona shook her head and continued "i can go to clubs, i just can't 'eat' there, also I have never been to one." she looked at Azora and smiled "Actually going to a club sounds pretty fun right now."
"I'm not saying you can't come and yeah it's fun, but also not fun at the same time." Azora sighed before asking, "You don't have demon blood do you?"
"no…. half human, half angel," Fiona shook her head and looked at the ground.
"So you don't have that urge to hunt," She reached up to scratch the raven on the side of the head, "Going to a club is like standing at a buffet and being told you can't eat anything accept food that has fallen on the floor." She paused to think about how to phrase it. "The 'food' is right there for the taking, but that would be stealing. Personally I'd like to think I'm better than a 'thief'."
Fiona thought about that for a second and nodded "That kinda makes sense… in a way, i get it but i don't at the same time." she looked at the bird on Azora's shoulder and said "So what's with the bird?"
"Well, Mot, here is a scavenger," Azora just quickly gave it a name, "So he eats dead things and Ravens are smart; in history they would fallow armies because they knew there would be food, lots of food after a battle. And well with the combination of death magic and war linage my aura kind of reads like a beacon to scavenger creatures, like a big neon sign saying 'Free food'." She gave a side glance to Mot, "Most keep there distance because that aura also said dangers creature, but Mot here decided to come get a closer look and when I did not run him off and was nice. He realized food and protection and now choses not to leave. Since I am a witch if he hangs around another few days I'll be obligated to create a familiar's bond."
"Nice! i wish i had a power like that." Fiona said amazed with Azora's powers. She then looked at Mot and asked Azora "Could i pet him?"
"Sure, but he's not my pet; currently just a bird that is hanging around. So I don't have a say in the matter, but he'll let you know." Azora looked at Fiona, "Regarding the power no you don't. No one wants to be a walking death omen. Predatory creatures view me as competition so it's hard to keep a pet dog or cat around. You practically have to raise them from infancy to see you as a friend or put in a lot of quality time to get them to trust you. And forget that is prey based animals they will live their whole lives in fear of you no matter what you do." She looked around the street, "People feel it too, they don't say anything about it, but you can see it in their eye they don't trust you."
"oh, ok, well i trust you." Fiona reached out to pet Mot but he snapped at her hand, so she pulled back quickly and gave the bird a death stare. (no joke intended)
"I'm sure it's nothing personal," Azora held back a smile, "I'm sure he just tying keep you from running him off. Like I said Raven are smart and since your not scared of me you might be dangerous too, but if you want to make friends he likes shiny things."
"ok, i'll see what i have" Fiona dug through her pockets and found a quarter "would he like this?" she held out the quarter to the bird and waited, Mot eyed, and pecked at it but didn't take it so Fiona scowled at the bird again and put the quarter back into her pocket. "i'll try again later, for now let's continue looking for that ice and salt." Fiona finally said.
"Well we shouldn't go to far unless we take a cab other wise the ice will melt before we get back." Azora started thinking out loud.
Fiona nodded "that's a good idea, where should we head first?"
Karis disappears in a flash, leaving only a faint smell of pine.
"Well how bout using a little magic." She pulled out a quarter of her own," The first flip determines whether we turn, heads yes tails no. the second flip determines the direction heads left tails right."
"Sounds like something I would do in middle school, so, lets do it!" Fiona watched Azora and waited patiently for the flip.
Azora flipped the coin, "Tails forward it is."
Fiona replied "ok." and started walking towards the end of the street, She then stopped when she got to the corner.
Flip flip, "Right," Flip, "forward," Flip. "forward," Flip flip, "left." once turning left they came across a corner store with an ice machine out front.
"yessss!" Fiona jumped in the air like a little kid and ran up to the machine, she then looked in the store quickly and came back outside "they have salt too!"
Azora smiled and pocketed the coin. "It's fate. How much ice do they have and how much are they charging?"
Fiona looked at the price and read off "a ten pound bag of ice is $2.75, and a 20 pound bag is $4, and by the looks of it they seem to have about 7, ten pound bags left and about ten, 20 pound bags."
"Thats not bad forty pounds should be enough and one of the large bags of salt should be enough. I'll go pay for it." Azora when into the store and stoped the man before he could say anything about Mot, "Emotional support companion." She drops the bag of salt on the counter and grabs a hotdog for Mot, "also two 20 pound bags of ice." He gave her a strange glance before he rung everything up and there was an exchanging of money.
Fiona waited outside for Azora to pay for everything and daydreamed about how badly or how well this plan could go.
"Alright every thing is good to go," We have two twenty pound bags of ice." She said shouldering the salt and walking over to the ice machine.
"sounds good, let's get back to the apartment." Fiona grabbed one of the bags of ice from the ice machine and slung it over her shoulder, then she grabbed the other one and held it under her arm.
"Yeah, we better get back before it melts," Azora said starting to lead the way back.
Fiona followed Azora back to the apartment, carrying both of the bags of ice with her.
