Lilah lifted a hand to point at the bell-pull hanging beside her door.
"If you ring that, a maid will come," she murmured, closing her eyes.
Lilah lifted a hand to point at the bell-pull hanging beside her door.
"If you ring that, a maid will come," she murmured, closing her eyes.
Cameron glanced up at it. "Huh. Didn't they used to use that type of thing in the past?"
"Yeah, but it worked for them so it works for us…" Lilah explained. She cracked open an eye to peer at Cameron, looking a little sheepish. "Actually, that's not entirely true… Everyone else has a super high-tech version, but I liked this one."
Cameron smiled at her when she fessed. "That's cool. I've always liked the old-school bells. I could never find one, though."
(A YouTuber that I watch is in the second season of a YouTube show called "Guilty Party" and was promoting it in one of his and his wife's vlogs, so my sister and I watched the first episode. It was really good! Interesting, intriguing, and mysterious.)
"Well, there you see one," Lilah said, gesturing to the bell again.
(oooOOOh I'll have to take a look)
Cameron rolled his eyes. "Well duh!"
(You should, yeah!)
Lilah chuckled. "Are you going to ring it so we can get food, then, or what?"
Cameron stretched for it. "Ehhhuhuhghhhh it's so far away."
"If you don't get up to ring it then we'll never eat breakfast," Lilah said, her voice neutral.
"I'll just starve, then, thanks." Cameron relaxed into the carpet.
"We could go back to cuddling," Lilah said with a shrug, feigning indifference.
Cameron smiled. "Sounds good." He stuck his arms out for her.
Lilah scooted closer to him with a grin. She wrapped her arms around him the best she could in the position she was in and buried her face in his neck.
He leaned his head on hers happily, smiling warmly. "I love you, Lilah," He suddenly felt himself say.
(Basing this on the assumption they haven't said that yet – because I can't remember. Lol.)
Lilah blushed, smiling into Cameron's shirt. "Really?"
(Yeah, I don't think they have)
Cameron squeezed her close. "Yes, really."
(Okay. I apologize in advance for Lilah, then…)
"Thanks," Lilah murmured, nuzzling him.
(Why?)
Cameron smiled. "What, you don't love me back?"
(Um…)
Lilah bit her lip. "Um…"
(…)
Cameron pulled away and blinked down at her. He felt a little hurt at her hesitation.
(And now you see why.)
Lilah cringed at his look and avoided his eyes.
"Sorry," she whispered, her face a deep crimson. She peeked up at him through her eyelashes. Truthfully, she hadn't meant to hesitate, but… Did she really love him?
(YES SHE DOES ehem
sorry xD)
Cameron sighed and let her go. "No, it's fine. Sorry for bringing it up."
Lilah winced at his words, biting her lip when he let her go.
"I'm sorry," she whispered again.
Cameron sat up with a faint sigh. "I'll go find a maid." He went to stand.
"Cam, please don't go," Lilah pleaded, sitting up and wrapping her arms around herself.
Cameron shook his head. "I'll be back–" Sooner or later.
"Please, Cameron," Lilah breathed, standing. Her eyes were wider than normal as she looked at him, and some of the color was gone from her face.
Cameron's gaze was shaded and distant, one might be able to associate with the loss of someone close.
"I'll come back. I'm just going to go get some food."
"All right," Lilah sighed in defeat.
Cameron gently brushed past her and out the door. Also passing the bell that is used to call the maids.
