LIAM: Do you need me to come over and help? I can clean and bandage the wound if you want, or is Harper there to help?
Liam sat up on the bed just in case Kasey needed him to come over.
LIAM: Do you need me to come over and help? I can clean and bandage the wound if you want, or is Harper there to help?
Liam sat up on the bed just in case Kasey needed him to come over.
KASEY: He's not here, no, but I don't want to bother you…
Kasey closed her eyes at a wave of dizziness. She had definitely over done it with her powers…
LIAM: Kasey, I'm literally not doing anything right now. I've finished work and music stuff so I'm free. Do you want the help?
Liam sighed and rubbed his face.
Kasey squinted at the screen and sighed reluctantly.
KASEY: Honestly, you probably should come over…
LIAM: I'll be over with bandages in a min.
Liam shook his head before grabbing the necessary items and heading to Kasey's. He knocked but opened the door anyway.
"You should really lock your door Kasey."
"It really wasn't my first priority when I got home," Kasey called weakly from her bedroom, where she was laying on her bed with her arm over her eyes.
Liam moved through the house and into Kasey's bedroom where he placed his things down, "I know." He said before walking out and running a bowl of warm water and grabbing a small towel he found.
Kasey sighed, trying to stay as still as possible so as to not become more dizzy. The lightheadedness and dizziness were such bad side-effects from using her powers too much. If she could get rid of them, she would. And maybe give herself a cooler power, too.
Liam looked up at Kasey for a moment then back at her leg, starting to clean the wound gently as to not hurt her further. He let out a small sigh as he did so.
Kasey let out a hiss of pain and surprise when Liam started cleaning the wound, and her leg twitched involuntarily.
"I'm sorry." He said gently, but kept cleaning the wound, this time at a slower pace.
"You're fine. Just don't take too long," Kasey managed to choke out, using her free arm to cover her face as well.
Liam nodded and started cleaning the wound more thoroughly. After that was done, he grabbed a bandage and started to wrap her leg.
Kasey groaned as Liam worked on her leg. She tightened her arms around her face, letting out a shaking breath.
"I'm sorry…" Liam muttered again as he tightened the bandage and tied the end off, "I'm so sorry." He stood and picked up the dirty water and removed it from the room.
"It's okay. You don't need to apologize," Kasey whispered, her voice wavering.
“I feel like I do.” Liam said back quietly, sitting in the end of the bed.
Kasey moved her arms apart far enough that she could peer at him curiously.
"Why?"
Liam sighed and rubbed his face, “Maybe If… if the newspaper hadn’t drawn attention to you, or or maybe Matt would have no idea who you are if didn’t write the articles on you. And I feel like I’m Just getting in your way and bugging you all the time…”
Kasey closed her eyes and sighed. She pulled her arms away from her face and stretched out a hand toward Liam.
"None of that is your fault," she whispered, opening her eyes to look at him. "And you have never been a bother to me."
Liam took her hand and sighed, “I always feel like I’m a bother… I can’t, I’m sorry I shouldn’t be turning this on me. You’re the injured one I should be taking care if you.”
"It's okay, Liam. Honestly. It help me ignore all the pain," Kasey said with a wry smile. "But if you could get the ibuprofen from my bathroom cabinet, that would be great."
Liam nodded and stood from the bed, walking to the bathroom and grabbing the pain killers, “I’ll go get a fresh glass of water.” He said as he placed them beside Kasey.
"I can dry-swallow them. No big deal," Kasey murmured as she poked up the bottle and dropped two into her hand.
Liam turned back around and nodded, sitting down on the floor next to Kasey’s bed, “Okay… I trust you…”
Just the words coming from Liam, of all people, made tears prick in her eyes. Kasey swallows the pills and bit her lip, holding them in.
Was it really that big of a deal? Maybe not, but she was tired, stressed, and in pain, so she was emotional.
Liam looked up at Kasey and frowned a little, "Hey, you alright? You're allowed to cry if that's what you want… was it something I said, sorry if it was."
"It's nothing. You just… have this unwavering trust in me, it seems like, and I… I don't even know, any more…" Kasey choked out, letting a few years slip past the barricade.
"You don't know if you can trust me… is that what it is?" He asked gently, wiping away the tears that Kasey shed with his thumb.
"I– No… Yes? Ugh, I don't know!" Kasey groaned, digging the heels of her hands into her eyes. "I want to rust you, Liam. Really, I truly do! But it's just… You're a reporter… It's your job…"
