Liam nodded with a small sigh, "Mhm… you need all the rest you can get to help your leg."

"And you need to rest so you can get better quickly," Kasey whispered, smiling down at him.

"No I don't, I'm in perfect condition." Liam said, his voice muffled by Kasey's side.

"Being sick is 'perfect condition' to you?" Kasey asked with a smile.

"I was being sarcastic." Liam replied.

"And I was teasing you," Kasey clarified. "So… Should we go back to sleep, then?"

Liam nodded slowly and pulled Kasey closer to him, "Mhmmm."

Kasey sucked in a sharp breath as he pulled her closer, the slight movement causing her leg to throb in pain. She squeezed her eyes shut tight and bit her lip.

"Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to- I'm sorry." Liam apologised as he looked up and noticed the pain showing on her face and immediately felt guilty.

"It's fine," Kasey murmured, her voice tight with pain. "You didn't do anything wrong. I should just be more careful of how I move."

"I need to remember too, I'm sorry." Liam reached up and planted a kiss to her cheek.

"It's okay, really," Kasey assured him, opening her eyes a crack and giving him a small smile.

"Are you sure?" He asked, still feeling guilty.

Kasey kissed Liam's nose.

"'Course I'm sure," she said with a soft smile.

Liam nodded, and went back into the position he was in before, humming a song quietly to himself as he did so.

"What'cha hummin'?" Kasey wondered.

"One of my new songs…" Liam mumbled.

"It sounds good," Kasey said with a smile.

"Thanks but it's still a work in progress." Liam sighed a little.

"Well, yeah. But I still liked what I heard," Kasey assured him, relaxing into him with a soft sigh.

"I know… thank-you." He looked up at her with a sleepy smile before resting his head back down on the bed.

"You're welcome," Kasey murmured as she closed her eyes.

Liam didn't reply as he'd fallen back asleep again, his breathing heavy, still snuggled into Kasey's side.

Kasey peeked an eye open to look down at Liam. She smiled at his sleeping figure, then bent down to lightly kiss his head. After getting into a more comfortable position, she closed her eyes again and fell asleep.

Liam gasped lightly as he awoke and grabbed his throat to relieve the tension growing there. He tried speaking but no sound came out. He groaned internally sitting up straighter, still rubbing at the pain in his throat.

Kasey stirred with a soft sound when Liam sat up. She blinked her eyes open and peered at him sleepily.

"Liam? What's wrong?" she asked, pushing herself up on one arm.

Liam shrugged and pointed to his throat before drawing a line across his voice box, indicating he couldn't speak.

"Great. Great… You can't speak…" Kasey sighed and rubbed her face. With a sudden thought, she perked up. "Think it. Just think whatever you need to say. I'll hear you."

Liam rolled his eyes and collapsed onto the bed with what would have been a loud groan.

Mhm… sure yeah think what I have to say…

"Yeah, exactly. Oh. Did… Did I ever actually tell you what my powers are?" Kasey asked, looking confused.
