Liam walked to the kitchen and found he hdn't gone shopping for a while. He frowned and grabbed an apple from the fruit bowl.
He walked to the computer and noticed a headline on the news. His jaw dropped and he didn't bother pulling on a shirt before he opened his door and knocked on Kasey's.
Kasey's quickly glanced at the door when she heard the knock. She looked back to Harper with a confused expression, wondering if he knew who it was. He just shrugged and motioned for her to get the door.
She made her way to the door and opened it to see Liam, blinking once at the sight of his bare chest before noticing the look on his face.
"Liam? What's up?" she asked worriedly.
"It's Matt, we have a problem, and we will have an even bigger problem regarding your identity soon." Liam said, biting his lip.
Kasey felt her heart stop momentarily, and she just stared at Liam as she tried to wrap her mind around what he'd just said.
"I'm sorry, I don't think I heard you correctly. What?"
"I just read a news article. Matt's gone to the papers and said he knows the identity of Kinesie, he's going to be on the news in two days to reveal who it is unless Kinesie meet's with him at the town hall tomorrow evening at eight." Liam said, trying to calm his breathing.
"That's not good," Kasey breathed, turning back into her apartment to pace as she rubbed her face with her hand. "That's really not good. I'll just have to meet with him, I guess…"
"That or we could always go to the news and tell them what Matt really is… if they believe us that is." Liam replied, stepping into the apartment and shutting the door.
"They won't. Why would they? He's important, we're just normal people," Kasey sighed, moving to the living room to sit in the couch, placing her head in her hands. Harper followed and sat in the chair, looking worried.
Liam sighed and sat down next to Kasey, "I'm sorry." He couldn't think of what else to say.
Kasey shook her head. "It's not your fault. If anything, I should be thanking you for warning me. I don't know why I didn't get a notification or anything on my phone," she sighed wearily.
"I'm not sure. I didn't even mean to see the article, but I'm glad I did." Liam said gently.
"I wish supering wasn't so difficult," Kasey groaned, digging hands into her eyes.
"Yeah… I'm not going to say I understand because I don't but I'm here for you, Kasey." Liam said, rubbing his hand on her back.
Kasey leaned closer to Liam and pulled her hands away from her face. She took a few deep breaths before she finally felt like she could speak again.
"All right. I think we should have a plan, then," she sighed.
"I can be your backup," Harper offered from his seat.
"What should the plan be? If you go to Matt then he'll kill you…" Liam said.
"He couldn't. And he wouldn't. The people of this city love Kinesie too much to let him. If he did, they would see that he was repaid," Kasey declared.
(Hey, there's a group of us discussing the shifty people on this site and who to watch out for. Just wanted to let you know)
Liam smiled a little, "That's true. But whatever the plan is you have to be careful."
(I've been reading it, but thanks for letting me know!)
"I know," Kasey breathed. "I hope this whole thing will just get dealt with soon…"
(Okay an no problem, just looking out for the good people on this site :)
"Me too, once Matt has been dealt with hopefully everything can go back to the way it was…" Liam sighed.
"I'm not sure if that's really much better… Maybe I should quit my job. Or drop college," Kasey mused, almost as if she was talking to herself. "But I can't stop being Kinesie. If I can only keep one of those, I'd keep being Kinesie."
"Don't drop college. Your education is more important then your job." Liam said gently.
Kasey looked over at Liam with a small smile. "I'll think about it. I might just have to do that," she said softly, turning her gaze back to her hands. "But… then there's the problem of paying for everything…"
"I can help if you need me too. Heck I'll even sell my music off if I have to." Liam said, giving her a smile.
"Actually… I was just telling her about how I was going to move next door. I could pay for your rent, Kase, so don't worry about that," Harper piped up from the kitchen, where he had gone to get a glass of water.
"You guys don't have to do that. I'm sure I could find a way to do it…" Kasey trailed off with a shrug.
"We want to help though, Kasey. I was going to sell my music anyway so it's not going to change any of my plans but… we want to help." Liam repeated.
Kasey sighed and closed her eyes. She had finally thought she could balance everything well, and now this happened…
"You're sure?" she asked Liam softly, looking up at him.
"I'm sure." He said gently, placing a kiss to her forehead.
The corners of Kasey's lips twitched up in a ghost of a smile as Liam kissed her forehead.
"Well… Thanks, then. I'll repay you somehow," she assured him.
"You don't have too, that's not it works if I want to do something for you." Liam raised an eyebrow.
"But…" Kasey sighed and shook her head with a slight smile. "Okay. Thanks."
