"Yeah, we should," Lilah agreed. She sighed and pulled away from him slightly. "Now I'm hungry…"
Cameron laughed gently. “Is this so boring for you it’s making you hungry? We can figure out something to do.”
"No, no! It's fine. I'm just hungry," Lilah laughed.
(Sorry, in a video call with friends. There are six of us…)
(Wowwwww)
“Alright. Should we get up and get the basket or have someone bring it over?”
"I can get it sent to us," Lilah said, pulling her phone out.
Cameron stretched out, realized the ledge on the lake was a lot steeper, then tumbled off. Cameron landed stiffly on his chest, his long legs strewn about him.
"Cameron? Oh my gosh, are you okay?" Lilah asked, jumping down and gracefully landing beside him.
Cameron laid there in defeat. “No….”
"Are you hurt?" Lilah asked, bending down to him.
Cameron sighed. “Unfortunately no.”
"What do you mean 'unfortunately'?" Lilah questioned, sitting down beside him. "I'm glad you're not hurt."
Cameron turned to look at her, a smudge of dirt on his handsomely shaped nose. “I was partially kidding.”
Lilah reached over and gently wiped the dirt from his nose.
"Well I wasn't. You gave me enough of a scare when you got that coma," she said softly, her fingers lingering on his face for a moment.
Cameron sighed. “I doubt I’ll get a coma. I’m alright.” He smiled.
"You'd better be," Lilah said, giving a somewhat forced smile. "No more hospital trips this decade, all right?"
“Alright. For you, Lilah.” He winked.
Lilah rolled her eyes and offered her hand to help him up.
"Come on, food's waiting for us."
Cameron grabbed her hand and got up with a grunt. Mud fluffed out and caked into Cameron’s hair and on his face, but he didn’t care. He loved mud; it was his favorite thing to play with as a kid.
"You're a mess," Lilah laughed when she saw the mud all over him. "There are some napkins in the basket, so we can use those to clean you up."
Cameron rubbed his face idly. “Eh, I don’t care.” He gave a shrug.
"You may not, but I do," Lilah laughed. "But as long as you don't go somewhere that someone could see you, I suppose it's fine… Though, it will dry…"
Cameron blinked. “Oh, right, we’re… royalty…” He sighed. I wish I were just a knight…
"Yeah… Though there are times that I don't feel like it. Times when I can just be myself and nobody cares because they're not around to see it," Lilah said with a sigh. "Times like this, actually…"
Cameron gave her a loopy grin. “Hey, same. Wanna play in the mud?” He pointed down to the squishy stubstance below his feet.
"I would love to, really I would, but I don't have a way to wash myself off when I'm done," Lilah said with a half smile.
Cameron shrugged. “We could just hop in the lake. That way we’d be soaked.” He laughed, knowing she wouldn’t do it.
"If I had an extra set of clothes with me, I would actually enjoy that, believe it or not," Lilah laughed.
“You could just have someone bring you some.” Cameron shrugged, squishing the mud impatiently.
"And where would I change, then?" Lilah asked, raising an eyebrow at him.
Cameron shrugged. “In the trees, I dunno! You said this was private property.”
