Diara grinned, seeing Lexter pull an unconscious Moxiey into the courtyard. "Very good," she purred to the shark. She picked Moxiey up gently and brought her to the air room. She laid Moxiey down on a table and left, locking the door behind her. "Now, for him," she said with an evil grin. She swam rapidly towards the surface, knowing that the boy hadn't seen her face, and changed her expression quickly to one of fear and worry. She poked her head up a couple feet away from him and whispered, "Psst!"
Grayson glanced around. “Who are you?”
She changed her voice to make it sound softer. Lighter. More… innocent. "My name is Brenna," she whispered.
(That escalated hella quickly)
“You can get me to Moxiey?”
Diara nodded, mimicking the shy personality of the young mermaid perfectly.
“Well can you take me to her?!”
She didn't offer to make him a bubble. She just took his wrist and swam quickly through the waves, dragging him behind her. "We're almost there," she said, internally cursing herself for letting her voice slip.
Grayson frowned a little but let her pull him along.
Once the castle came into view she slowed down. She cruised around the perimeter, passing for a split second by the large glass face of the air room…
Grayson tried to swim towards the air room, panicking slightly.
Diara grinned and swam back towards the room, not letting him see her smirk.
(Aww, bai! Will you be back later?)
(Hey I’m here)
Grayson felt himself start to go numb with lack of oxygen and tried to get to the air room.
(Hi!)
Diara thought for a second, then pulled him to the air room. She zipped over, scooped up Moxiey, and carried her quickly out of the room. "Switcheroo," she said, cackling, locking the door again behind her.
Grayson gasped and reached out for Moxiey but it was too late. He breathed heavily and tried to get out of the room.
Moxiey's limp body rested on Diara's arms. "I know exactly what to do with you my dear," Diara said with a grin. She swam around to the window and looked at Grayson, an innocent smile on her lips.
Grayson cured out and ran to the window. “MOXIEY!”
Diara laughed. "Yes, that's right. And now she's mine. We made a deal," she said smoothly, flashing him a smile.
Grayson continued yelling and banging on the window.
Diara rolled her eyes. "It's shatter-proof! You know what, nevermind. I have what I want. Lexter," she jerked her head toward what looked like a strange filter. The shark swam at it aggressively and succeeded in knocking it off. Steadily, water, not air, poured into the air room. Diara waved and swam away quickly. Moxiey's eyes flickered.
Grayson started to panic. He swam up to the top of the room as water flowed steadily in.
Moxiey's eyes opened. She could breathe. The more she was in the water, the more her mermaid features returned.
Grayson took one final gasp of air and banged on the glass frantically.
Moxiey gasped and struggled in Diara's arms. She writhed and managed to burst free, weaning frantically away. She heard a banging noise and saw - "Grayson!" she exclaimed. She saw the filter was ajar and she fixed it quickly. Without water pouring in, the drainer emptied the room rather quickly.
Grayson gasped for air and saw Moxiey outside the glass. “Moxiey! MOXIEY!”
Moxiey pressed her hand against the glass, smiling happily, but her eyes were full of tears. All she wanted was for him to hold her…
Diara came up behind Moxiey and pressed a dagger to her neck. Moxiey gasped suddenly, causing the knife to cut a tiny slit in her neck. "One wrong move and she's as good as dead," the sea witch threatened.
Grayson felt tears slide down his face. "MOXIEY!" He cried, pressing his hand up to the glass next to hers.
Moxiey inhaled sharply as the knife pressed against her skin.
"Do I look like I'm kidding?" Diara snapped.
