Please hurry Rose.. He thought.

Rose burst out of the entrance, her eyes wide with horror. They found Grayson and she glided over to him.

"What's wrong? Is she okay? What's happening?"

"Diara is torturing her with a power I've never seen before," Rose replied, her usually hard voice now shaking.

"Is there anything we can do?" His own voice shaking a bit as well.

Rose bit her lip. "I'm not sure…"

"Anyone that can help?"

"I don't think so," Rose whispered.

"I'm going in there." He stated, swimming towards the opening in the cavern.

"You're crazy!" Rose huffed.

"Crazy? Maybe. But I love her and i'm going to try and save her." He swam into the cavern.

"We need a plan!" she insisted, but he was already out of earshot. "Great," she mumbled.

Grayson stayed to the edges of the cavern, occasionally ducking under rocks to avoid being seen. He reached Moxiey and stayed out of sight, tears clouding his vision.

"Tell me where the key is!"
"I don't know… I don't know…"

"SHE DOESN'T KNOW WHERE THE GODDAMN KEY IS!" He yelled from behind the rock.

Diara whipped around.
Moxiey whimpered. "Grayson…"
Diara scowled. "How…?" She swam over to where she thought he was, but it wasn't right since his voice had echoed phenomenally around the cavern walls.

Grayson hid nervously behind the rock and slowly inched away from Diara and closer to Moxiey.

Moxiey saw him and smiled weakly. Diara noticed her gaze and glared at Grayson. "How did you escape?!"

"Doesn't matter. Give me Moxiey."

"No!" Diara snarled.

"But she doesn't know anything!" He retorted.

"Yes, she does. And I'll get that key. But first-" She made a quick move towards Grayson, but something quick bowled into her before she could do anything.
"Rose…" Moxiey moaned.

Grayson dived for Moxiey and gripped her tightly as Rose distracted Diara.

Moxiey weakly tumbled into Grayson's arms. "Rose," she murmured. Her voice was a fluttery whisper.
Rose shoved Diara against the wall and held her there. "Go!" she yelled at Grayson and Moxiey. Diara screamed and hit at Rose. "Go! Now!" Rose yelled again.

Grayson hesitated but swam away with Moxiey in his arms. He swam up to the surface and hid Moxiey behind a rock. He kissed her on the forehead then swam back down into the cavern.

"Grayson, no…" Moxiey strained to get to the water so she could swim to him. But she still had her legs.

Rose struggled to hold Diara back much longer. The powerful witch blew her back against the opposite side of the cavern. A piece of crumbling rock hit her on the back of the head and Rose collapsed into a heap on the floor. Diara swam over, breathing heavy and coughing. "A pathetic excuse for a mermaid," Diara scoffed mercilessly.

Grayson swam down and hid behind a rock again, trying to figure out what he was going to do.

Diara thought. "If Moxiey doesn't know, maybe you do," she said to Rose. Diara grinned wickedly. "Hmmm, yes. That will do nicely." She dragged Rose carelessly across the cavern.

Grayson dives out from behind the rock and took a hold on rose, pulling her away.

Diara turned and growled. "What are you doing here?" she demanded, pulling Rose swiftly away and out of his reach. She used her powers to trap the mermaid in a heap of rocks before turning to face Grayson.
