(Go for it. What is it?)
(Basically, Kaitlin's brother, Sam, isn't actually dead. He faked it, and turns out there's this secret organisation that is training newly together soulmates to basically use these inner powers which will only work if they fight together… stupid I know but it's all I got rn)
(That's awesome let's do it.)
(yay!)
When the two arrived at the church, Kaitlin stopped before heading inside, "Wait… there's someone I have to visit first." She said, heading into the rows of grave stones.
Isaac nodded solemnly and followed her.
It didn't take long before Kaitlin reached the grave she want and knelt down in front of it. She sighed.
Isaac folded his hands in front of him and looked at the ground.
A few moment's later Kaitlin's head snapped up when she heard something in the trees, "What was that?" She asked, standing.
Isaac snapped up as well. He held his arms up, ready to defend them at any moment.
Out of the tree line, two figures approached, stopping a few feet away from the couple. One, a taller male that looked strikingly similar to Kaitlin and another female with short black hair.
"Sam!? What the…" Kaitlin took a step back into Isaac.
"Kaitlin! You're okay, you're… you!" The man, Sam said.
"Oh my gosh…" Isaac didn't know what to do or say.
"And you must be Kaitlin's soulmate, it's a pleasure to meet you…" Sam held out his hand for the other to shake, cocking his head to the side to ask for the man's name.
Isaac tentatively shook his hand then said, "Isaac. And you are?"
"I'm Sam, her older brother. And this is my soulmate, Lily." Sam said, giving a smile to the other girl.
"But you died, Sam. That is your grave right there." Kaitlin said, pointing to it and Sam sighed.
"I faked it. My death."
Isaac stood there in shock, completely unsure of what to do or say.
Kaitlin shook her head and took Isaac's hand, "No. I don't believe it. Leave me be." She said before starting to walk away. Sam was about to follow but Lily held him back.
Isaac followed her lead and walked away, still not quite sure what was going on. He could sense the tension so he gave Kaitlin's hand a little squeeze and whispered. "You alright?"
Kaitlin shook her head, "No. No I'm not." She said back quietly, heading for home.
Isaac was worried about her. "Kaitlin… what's going on?"
"I haven't the faintest idea…" She said, pushing open the doors to her house and sitting down on her couch, "My brother 'died' a few years ago, along with my mum but…"
Isaac sat down next to her. "Why would he fake his death?"
"I-I don't know. I'm at a loss…" Kaitlin said quietly.
"Me too, to be completely honest." Isaac said, his face scrunching up into deep thought.
Kaitlin rested her head on Isaac, "I'm so confused…"
Isaac nodded and caressed her cheeks. "I know, Kaitlin, I know. We're gonna figure this out. Together."
Kaitlin cracked the tiniest smile as she let a lone tear slip, "Together," She sighed, "Can… can you just hold me, please?" She asked quietly.
Isaac nodded again and put an arm around her. He gave her a gentle kiss on the forehead and held her close.
Kaitlin sighed and snuggled closer into Isaac, "Thank you."
"Of course. Kaitlin, I love you. I would never leave you or push you aside. If you need me, I'm already there." He gave her another kiss on the forehead. Then propped her chin up so she was looking at him. "Don't you ever forget it."
