"No, no. You just amuse me sometimes, that's all," Lilah assured him with a smile.

Cameron smiled back unsurely. “Okay. If you say so.”

"Really, Cam. You're fine," Lilah said, putting her free hand on his arm.

Cameron nodded. “Alright.” His smile became more sure.
Lily barked down at Lilah, wiggling in Cameron’s arms protectively.

"What? I can't touch him?" Lilah laughed at the puppy.

Lily barked louder at her, wiggling.
“Nope, you can’t. I belong to her.” He rolled his eyes. “She’s peed on me at least twice, now.”

Lilah made a somewhat disgusted face before laughing. She took her hand off of Cameron and set it on Lily's head.

"Well, fine, then. I'll just pet you," she laughed.

Cameron laughed at the look on her face.
Lily borked contentedly as Lilah stroked her smol head.

"Hey, that's gross to most people. It was a fair face to make," Lilah defended herself, smiling.

Cameron snorted. "It was hilarious. Just some high-quality expression."

"Nooooo, stahhhp," Lilah groaned, hiding behind her hands.

Cameron nudged her. "Just teasing, just teasing!"

"I knooooow, buy why???" Lilah peeked out from between her fingers, her cheeks bright red.

"Your face is just soooo cuuute!" He grinned at her pink face.

"Staaaahhhhhp iiiiiiit," Lilah groaned again, her fingers snapping back together.

Cameron giggled and nudged her again. "Alright, alright. I'll stop."

Lilah peeked out again. "Seriously this time?"

"Yes. Seriously this time." He grinned at her.

"Okay, good." Lilah let her hands fall from her face, her cheeks still tinted red.

Cameron rubbed her shoulder gently. "I like you a lot." He smiled at her warmly. "I'd thought you'd like to know."

"You're doing this on purpose," Lilah muttered as her blush darkened.

"No, I'm not." His voice was soft and deeper than usual. He stopped in his tracks, his hand still on her shoulder.

"Hm…" Lilah hummed in response, looking away to hide her blush. Not that there was any point since he had probably already seen it.

Cameron chewed his lip nervously. "Like… like I said… I really like you…" He turned a faint red. "I… um…"

Lilah glanced back over at Cameron, curious and wary about what he was trying to say.

"You…?" she prompted him to continue in a whisper.

Cameron looked away and shook his head. "It's dumb. Sorry. Let's continue walking."

(super fast reply calls for a filler time thing)

"Cameron?" Lilah whispered as she moved so she could see his face. "What?"

Cameron shook his head. "It's… it's just really dumb, I just wanted to know-" He cut himself off.

"What, Cam. You wanted to know what?" Lilah pressed.
