Lilah stirred slightly, blinking her eyes open. She groaned at the puppy on her chest and pushed her off.
Lilah stirred slightly, blinking her eyes open. She groaned at the puppy on her chest and pushed her off.
Lily whined softly at Lilah before skittering over to Cameron’s muddy feet.
“Ready to go, Lilah?” Cameron asked with a warm smile.
"No… I was warm. And sleeping," the princess groaned. She sighed and pushed herself to her feet anyway, grabbing Lilac's leash.
The muddy monster who calls himself Cameron helped her up. “Hmm, you’re the type to fall asleep anywhere, huh?”
"It was warm. And I was full. And…" Lilah sighed. "Yeah, I can fall asleep just about everywhere…"
Cameron laughed good-naturedly. “As can I, no worries. Let’s go.”
"Yeah," Lilah sighed, starting toward the car. "It can be a blessing and a curse."
Cameron chuckled. “I find it quite nice. One time I fell asleep on a slab of concrete and slept like that until my Grandad woke me up.”
"Really?" Lilah laughed. "How?"
Cameron’s gaze grew dreamy. “It was a warm day… mmmm… I sat down and it was so warrrrmmmm…”
"Cameron, don't fall asleep on me now!" Lilah laughed.
Cameron laughed too. “Ah, I just might! I’m inevitable like that.”
"Yeah, but if you fall asleep here you'll get left!" Lilah continued to giggle.
“Meh. Doesn’t sound too bad. I could survive.” He smiled.
"All by yourself?" Lilah teased. "What if I never came back here again?"
“I would be very sad. But this place is a walking’s distance to your palace, so I’d just haunt you.” He laughed. “I kid, I kiiid.”
Lilah clicked her tongue with a laugh. "I'm not sure how well you haunting me would go over. Let's just go, yeah?"
“Yeah, let’s just go. Speaking of haunting, do you have any clothes I could change into?” He looked at her.
"I'm sure we have some at home that'll fit you," Lilah answered. "Are you regretting your muddy decision?"
“Nope! I never regret my many muddy decisions.” Cameron beamed.
"All right," Lilah laughed. "But your clothes will be fun to wash."
“Very fun. It’ll make Williams very happy.” Cameron beamed wider.
Lilah laughed. "I'd pay to see his expression when he sees your clothes."
“I’ll be able to see it for free! Maybe at a severe cost of my ear…”
"Aw, man. That would be a sight to see," Lilah laughed.
Cameron waved a hand at her. “It’d just be Williams chewing me out for in mud again.”
"Again?" Lilah laughed. "So that wasn't just you putting on a show for me?"
“Nope! I really enjoy mud, Lilah.” Cameron grinned at her.
"So I've noticed, Cameron," Lilah said with a grin.
Cameron chuckled. “It’s good that you finally did. If not I’d have to prove it and I’m not that hardworking.”
