Nate walked into school and looked around for his group of friends. It was the first day of school and everything was chaotic as people rushed towards their friends that they hadn't seen all summer. Nate huffed in annoyance and began his trek to the band room.

(It’s fine I was gone for awhile too…)
Jason walked into the crazy school building and headed to the band room without a second thought. He almost walked into several kids, but swerved at the last second. He saw a couple people he knew and waved to them, not stopping to talk as he ventured deeper into the school to the band room.

(Do they know each other yet?)
Nate sat at the drum set in the band room with his earbuds in, blocking the rest of the world out as he practiced. He didn't care that he was being loud, there weren't many other people in the room so he didn't think he was bothering anyone too much.

(I don't know. Do you think Ty should or shouldn't?)

Jason stopped outside the band room door when he heard drumming. How can people be playing instruments this early in the morning? Jason thought to him self. He opened the door and walked into the room looking around.

(That's up to you…I don't mind either way :) )
Nate continued his drumming until someone walked in and he slowly stopped as he looked up to see who it was.

Jason looked over at who was playing the drums. He waved at Nate. He sort of knew Nate, they could have a pretty normal conversation, but they weren't friends or anything. He walked up to Nate.

Nate waved back at Jason as he walked up. "Hey, how was your summer?" He asked, setting down his drum sticks and pulling out his earbuds.

"Good." Jason pulled up a chair and sat in front of the drum set, facing Nate. "How was your summer?"

"Pretty good." Nate smiled at Jason. "What sorts of things did you do? Anything super exciting?"

"Well I went back to my home country and got to see my family and friends…" Jason returned the smile. "What did you do?"

"That's really cool! What sorts of things did you do with your friends in South Korea?" Nate asked, growing excited to hear what sorts of things there was to do in other countries. "And I didn't really do much. Just practice with the rest of my band." He laughed.
(his band's name is Blackout by the way…I don't know if it'll come up later or not, I just figured you should know in case it did… :) )

“Playing In a band sounds cool. I would want to be a singer/rapper in South Korea but I’m here most of the time so it would be hard.” Jason thought for a minute of what he did. “I didn’t do that much actually. I just hung out with my friends. We went to a couple pop-up concerts and amusement parks. I did a lot of shopping, that was fun. I also watched a lot of tv. Oh, this is something you probably don’t have here, I went out drinking. It’s legal at my age in Korea if you’re wondering.”

"Really? That's legal in Korea? That's so cool! You had a much more exciting summer than I did." Nate laughed, "If you were a singer or rapper in Korea, what would your music be about?"

“Well technically I’m nineteen in Korea, so, yea..,” Jason laughed. “Probably self struggles everyone deals with. But then again I’m not entirely sure… What’s your music about?”

"Wait…what do you mean you're technically nineteen in Korea?" Nate asked, completely confused by Jason's response. He shook his head before answering Jason's question, "Um…well, it's about a few different things. Right now we're working on a song called Fallout. Uh…it's about a break up and feeling empty and jealous about them moving on, I guess." Nate blushed and looked down, feeling self-conscious about his band's music.

Jason knew Nate would ask that question and he was ready to explain. "In Korea when we are born we are one year old, as we include the nine months we were in the womb. We also age with each new year. It's really complicated, so when asked our age we just say out birth year. I'm born in the year 2000 so I would just say 00 or 2000." Jason listened to Nate talk about his music. "That sounds interesting. Did you just break up with someone or did someone in your group?" Jason paused, mentally cursing himself. "Ah, sorry if that is too personal, it's common culture in Korea."
