"Oh, we'll see," he said with a smirk.
"Oh, we'll see," he said with a smirk.
“You’re on.” She moved her bangs out of her eyes, then winked at him, sealing the challenge.
Bryson grinned. He tossed her onto his bed and began tickling her fiendishly.
Despite her hardest efforts not to laugh, she caved. Curling into herself, she gave a small shriek. Tucking her legs up between them, she reached up and prodded his sides, trying to get him back.
"Hey!" Bryson jumped when she poked him. He grinned and moved her legs aside to tickle her again. "Tell me!"
Grinning back, she grabbed his hands and jokingly faught against him. “Never! This one I’m taking to my grave,” she gave a low growl, like imitating a lion.
"C'mon, you're my best friend! You can tell me anything, you know," he said, winking cheesily at her.
“You know what,” she sat up and looked him dead in the eyes. “I will tell you, I cave.” She swing her legs over the side of the bed, almost bracing herself. Putting a hand to her head, she nervously laughed before adding, “You’re going to think I’m so stupid.” Her voice was completely serious.
"Hmm, I think that you're so stupid anyway, but continue."
She turned and lightly slapped him. “Hey! I’m about to confess my soul feelings to you and you say that!!” She slapped him again.
"Easy! Easy! Okay, fine. Open up your soul," he said, smiling but also serious.
She gave her most sarcastic eye roll possible, then the serious demeanor came back. “Well, when I was smiling about you earlier, it’s because to me, you are seriously the most perfect person. I mean, you’re my best friend of course, but it’s more than that. You’re loyal, funny, smart, creative, amazing in every way… You are honestly who I aspire to be. I was smiling because that you was showing through yet again. Heh, who knows, I think I might even be in love with you-,” she froze. She had gone to far, ended up rambling on and now… Her biggest secret was out. Her face istantly went bright red as she hid her face. “Oh god oh god oh god, you didn’t just hear that!!!”
Bryson blinked. "Uh, actually, I did… But hey," he added, grabbing both of her hands in his to pull them away from her face, "um, I think I love you too. I'm being serious, by the way. This is what serious me looks like. You should be taking notes."
She lightly squeezed his hands, trying to calm the panic tha had now switched to butterflies in her chest. A laugh choked out of her, along with a tear spilling from her eye, caused by her panic. “You- you really do? You’re not just, saying that?” Another tear spilled out.
"Yeah," he said, laughing nervously. He jokingly added, "I think Paige got to us."
Smiling now, she pulled one of her hands back to wipe off her face. “She totally did. Must have, brainwashed us or something,” she joked, completely knowing in the back of her head that her feelings were completely of her own doing. She dropped her gaze to her legs, mixed feelings of embarrassment, shame, and urge to kiss him all mixing together.
"So, we love each other. Um… now what?" He really sucked at this whole relationship thing.
“Well, tell me if I’m moving too fast, but normally when people confess their love this kinda thing happens.” She slightly smiled before leaning up lightly kissing him, barely brushing his lips before pulling back, making sure she didn’t force herself on him at all.
He was startled at first, but he grinned and cupped her cheek to bring her back for a slightly deeper kiss.
While he kissed her she brought her arms up wrapped them over his shoulders, holding the two of them closer together. When they pulled apart again she was lightly panting, out of breath. “You’re a really good kisser,” she breathed, still leaning in close to him.
"I am?" he asked, a little confused.
“Yeah, you are.. You should go make out with yourself sometime to see what I mean,” she winked, before crumpling with laughter. She pulled her head back up, face bright pink. She ran a hand through her hair, pulling the bright green mess out of her face.
"Nah," he said, staring deep into her beautiful green eyes. "I'd rather make out with you." He kissed her again, not realizing how much he'd wanted it until now.
Her heart flipped at what he said, and the sincerity behind it. After being swept back up into a kiss, she felt at this point that her heart might burst. A part of her now felt complete. No more secrets. Her worst fear would be that this would wreck their friendship, but now she realized it was all worth the risk.
He kissed her deeply, enjoying every moment.
Arching her back, she leaned into the kiss, deeply enjoying it as well. She ran her hands up his arms, and then moved them up to play with the back of his hair, lightly brushing her fingers through it while they kissed. She then dropped her arms and went back to holding him around the shoulders.
He kept his arms looped around her waist, bringing her closer to him. He enjoyed the feeling of her hands in his hair.
After a couple more moments, partially against her will, she finally lightly pulled back. Still only a couple inches from his face, she tightened her grip around him and barely whispered, “I really do love you…”
He smiled. "I really do know." He looked deep into her beautiful green eyes. When had he started having feelings for her? It was so long ago, he couldn't even remember. He just knew that she loved him and he loved her. She was his best friend.
A smile lit up her face. She leaned in and brushed a kiss against his nose. Staring up into his face, her hands ended up in his hair again. “I’m yours,” She breathily whispered. She had been in love with him for so long, it was hard to remember life before the feeling of heartache and desire every time she saw him.
