Lilah burst out laughing.

"What was that?!?"

Cameron turned a faint red. “Shush! Lily likes it!”
Lily hopped up on her feet and started borking excitedly.

"No, it was funny, that's all!" Lilah exclaimed.

Cameron scooped up the borking puppy. “It’s not funny! She likes it a lot, and it helps her feel safe!”

"Okay, it's not funny," Lilah said, putting her hands up defensively. She tried to hide her smile, but it was fairly obvious.

Lily borked louder and louder, flailing excitedly in Cameron’s gasp.
He huffed and held her like a child, where she immediately stopped her barking. “Sure it is, but it helps her calm down.”

"Well, fine, then. It's cute, is that acceptable?" Lilah asked, giving him a look.

Cameron rolled his eyes. “Yes, it’s acceptable. Will I have to wear a suit to your place or…”

Lilah laughed a little.

"No, you won't. Not unless there's a ball or something going on while you're there," she said with a grin. "My parents are pretty lax about clothing, as long as you're sufficiently covered, that is."

Cameron chuckled. “No I’m just going to wear my-“
Lily interrupted his sarcastic musings with a bork.

Lilah snorted and rolled her eyes. "Lily's smart," she said with a smirk.

Cameron chuckled happily and stroked Lily’s tummy. “She is!!”
Lily borked happily.

"You should get dressed so we can go!" Lilah laughed. "Stop procrastinating!"

“Fiiine, then hold Lily, I’ll get dressed.” Cameron walked over.

Lilah took Lily into her arms. "Okay, you're released if the puppy. You can go now," she teased.

Cameron stroked Lily’s tummy before rolling his eyes at Lilah’s statement. “I'm going… I’m going…” He ambled over to the closet and trotted inside.

Lilah laughed a bit and sat down on the bed. She murmured to Lily as she pet her.

Lily borked happily, wiggling her paws at Lilah’s hand.
Cameron shut the closet door behind him and selected a sweater and jeans.

Lilah laughed and booped the puppy on her nose.

Lily borked and licked for Lilah’s fingers. She wiggled happily in her arms.

"You're silly," Lilah giggled, rubbing the puppy behind her ears.

As Lily flailed in her arms, Cameron walked out of his closet.
“Alright. We can go.”

"Great!" Lilah said as she looked up at him. "Let's go, then."

Cameron nodded and took the puppy. “I’ll pack up her food and her leashes.”

"Okay. I'll go call for a ride," Lilah said as she pulled out her phone and made her way out to the hallway.

Cameron nodded and walked into his closet with Lily again. He grabbed her leashes and a small baggie of her special puppy food then joined Lilah in the hall.

(I hate Physics… Or the way my curriculum tries to explain it, anyway.)

Lilah already called and gotten someone to come pick them up. She put her phone in her pocket as she turned to Cameron when he walked out.

"We're all set."

Cameron nodded with a grin. “Thanks! How long will they talk?”

(I did horribly on a quiz today.)

"They should be here any minute now," Lilah said with a smile. "Should we go wait outside?"

(I got a 55% on a Latin quiz)

Cameron nodded, attatching a leash to Lily and setting her down. “Lead the way.”
