"What's he talking about, Cam?" Lilah asked, lifting her head a bit to look at him.

Cameron grunted. “It doesn’t matter.”
“But sir, it does! You’re getting much closer to the girl than Mistress Metzler would like!”
“I don’t caaaaaaaaaaaaare what she thinks. How about you go tell her that?”

"Cam…?" Lilah asked pulling back a bit more.

Cameron huffed. “Yes, Lilah?” He opened an eye to look at her.

"What's up with Williams?" Lilah asked quietly.

“Williams just thinks that we shouldn’t get too attatched since I’m forbidden to marry. But I said he can-“
“Sir, this is a serious problem! You cannot lengthen out the Metzler line!”

"And why ever not?" Lilah demanded, sitting up straight. "Because his parents and their parents and their parents made some bad decisions?"

Williams blinked at her. “Yes, precisely, did he explain to you…?”
“yES I DID!”

Lilah winced when Cameron raised his voice.

"Okay, so if your parents didn't want you to become a butler, would you have?"

Williams huffed. “No, our family is a line of- I don’t matter right now! Cameron, in the upmost respect, I highly recommend you stop seeing this girl!”

Lilah buried her face in Cameron's chest and groaned.

"Make 'im go away. I'm too tired to continue to argue," she murmured.

Cameron wrapped her arms around her again and relaxed back into the warm sheets and bed..
“What’s Mum going to do anyway? We’ll talk about it later.” Not.

"I won't let him convince you to let me go," Lilah murmured before she fell back asleep.

“He won’t convince me even if he knew how…” Cameron, too, drifted off.
Williams sighed and shook his head. “I will not tell, for I know the spell of love… but when Mistress Metzler finds out…” He turned heel and walked out.

About an hour later, Lilah groaned and squeezed her eyes shut tight. Again? She really had to wake up for the second time that day?

Cameron was still gently snoring, his arms and legs curled around hers. Lily had fallen back asleep too, having fled under the bed when Williams came in earlier.

Lilah glanced up and smiled at Cameron's sleeping face. He looked so peaceful when he slept. She gently reached up to caress his cheek with her hand.

He inhaled gently in his sleep, unbeknownst to her wakefulness. He exhaled in a soft sigh.

Lilah giggled quietly when he didn't wake. Maybe if she just…

She lightly pressed her lips to his forehead for a moment, pulling back to see if he awoke.

He didn’t. He snored gently this time as he inhaled… clearly he was a heavier sleeper.

Lilah giggled again and kissed his nose this time.

Cameron grunted softly in his sleep, bringing his lips together. His leg twitched, which Lily woke to investigate.

Lilah shook her head. He still wasn't awake?

With a smile, she kissed both of his cheeks.

Lily berked softly when Cameron’s leg twitched again. His face tensed a little and he stirred.
“Mmm… Lily… what are you doing?”

"Good morning, sunshine," Lilah whispered with a quiet laugh.

Cameron blinked hazily at her, realized it was her, and immediately unconnected their legs.
“Lilah?” He asked, sounding much more awake.

"Um, yeah? Who else would be here? Wait, don't answer that," she added quickly.

Cameron set his head back down, opening his eyes. “No one. I was just… curious why you were… in my bed…” He trailed off, signifying that he remembered last night’s events.

"Yeah. Okay. Morning forgetfulness, huh?" Lilah sighed, laying her head down next to his again.

Cameron nodded and rested his head back down too. “What’s wrong?”
