I haven't seen one of these in a really long time, so I thought I'd start another one, if anybody is interested!
Prompt: a relationship that changes and develops over time (you can write your story however you interpret this prompt)
RULES FOR COMPETITORS
- If there are any mentions of suicide, self harm, sexual assault, anxiety attacks, or child abuse, you must include a very obvious trigger warning. If you fail to do this, you will be immediately disqualified. No exceptions.
- No making fun of anybody's work. Only positivity is accepted here!
- THIS IS A SHORT STORY. STORY MUST BE UNDER 5,000 WORDS.
- No collaboration works. This is an individual competition. (you can ask for reviews and advice, though!)
RULES FOR JUDGES
- If you are biased about anybody's work (like the competitor is your best friend, girlfriend, sibling, etc) DO NOT JUDGE THAT WORK. Leave it to the other judges.
- Do not talk negatively about anybody's work. Ever. It took time and effort, please recognize and appreciate that. When giving criticism, you must keep it as positive as possible.

I'd like to try my hand at this but I do have one question about the prompt. Is this changing relationship specifically between characters or can we deal with broader subjects like humans and the earth or time and space?

Yes you can join. And fanfiction is allowed, but I'd prefer you didn't do that, as it could make your work more or less favorable (depending on the judge's opinion on the fandom you're writing for)

Adventures through time and space was a pretty obvious hint, but it's probably gonna be Doctor Who unless that won't work, or I come up with something that would go down better with the audience.
