Halo smiles a little, gently kissing John after he said that. He was glad John had hesitated as well. He loved John so much. He nuzzles into John's shoulder and smiles again, kissing his neck softly. "I'm not sure how to answer that question. My eyes changed color when I fell from heaven, along with my hair. I used to have dark brown hair and ocean green eyes." He shrugs and looks up at John.
“Really? Wow…” John tried to picture it but couldn’t. Halo’s glass like eyes were just so perfect, “How much do you remember from before you… fell?” John brushed his thumb over Halo’s cheek, a soft comforting smile appearing on his face.
Halo tilts his head, humming in thought. "A lot… most of my human life. It took a while to regain the memories, but when I finally pieced everything together I understood and what not… I wasn't really loved in my past life." He shrugs casually. "So I'm glad I got a second chance." He says, smiling softly at John as he leans into the others touch.
John smiled, bringing Halo in closer to kiss him gently, “I’m glad you got a second chance too, love,” He whispered against Halo’s lips, doodling little circles on Halo’s back with his thumb.
Halo smiles and leans against John. He kisses back with a gentle passion. It wasn't needy, it was more of a 'I love you more than anything.' Type of kiss. He sighs softly at the gentle touches and caresses, humming a little bit in satisfaction.
John pressed his forehead against Halo’s, “Your turn. Ask me anything you want, love.” He stroked one hand through the other’s hair gently. It was so soft…
"Why me?" He asks quietly, purring softly and the gentle hand running through his hair.
“Why you?” John took a mere second to think, “Because you saved my life, because I saw the innocence in your eyes, because you’re the best human being -guardian- I’ve ever met.” John closed his eyes, “You’re a literal angel. You’re my angel,” He grinned at the other as he asked his question, “Why me?”
Halo smiles a little as John explained. He tilts his head at John before smiling softly. "Love is an unexplained thing, and I doubt it will ever be explained properly, John. But it's beautiful. When I saw you, I felt something. You defended me, even if it meant giving up your life. I saw a warrior. A leader. But I saw a kind, loving and wonderful man." He says gently, kissing John gently.
John snuggled his head into Halo’s shoulder so the other wouldn't’ see the tear that escaped his eye. Those words meant so much to John, just hearing them… He leaned into Halo, sharing his warmth just holding the other. He didn’t even know how long the moments were. It could’ve been an eternity, it could’ve been a few seconds and John wouldn’t be able to tell the difference. Only the slight call of sleep beckoned him, but John’s love for Halo overrode that entirely.
Halo smiles, holding the other happily. He sighs softly, kissing the side of John's head affectionately. "I love you." He whispers softly as he held John. The male meant so much to him. He sighs and kisses John gently. Time passed, and Halo didn't even care. He was with John and that was all that mattered to him was John.
John didn’t realize just how tired he was until he had trouble keeping his eyes open when he held Halo. Just stay up… just for a little bit longer… He ran a tired hand through Halo’s hair, smiling softly. Halo was just so warm, like a blanket…
Halo smiles and kisses John's cheek. "We should probably head to bed." He says quietly. He nuzzles into John's shoulder, smiling as he tenderly kisses at the skin.
“No…” John protested weakly, but sleep dragged him down. He finally broke away, sliding down to the ground, and ending up laying down with his head tucked on his arm. He looked at Halo through tired eyes, “Good night…”
Halo smiles and runs a hand gently through John's hair, watching as he fell to the floor and shut his eyes. Halo curls up next to him, nuzzling into his chest as he slowly fell asleep, sighing happily as his clear eyes are hidden beneath his lids and his slender hands rest on John's chest.
The last thing John remembered was reaching out to Halo before falling asleep. He slept so peacefully, as if Halo’s mere presence was enough to calm any inner storm. He woke to feeling a soft warmth against him, which he curled around sleepily.
Halo sighs happily as he begins to sleep, his breathing slow and even as it exits his pale pink lips. He easily fell asleep, John's presence making him feel safe and secure as he slept. He had no issues with nightmares.
John finally opened his eyes to brush his hand through sleeping Halo’s hair. He kissed the top of the other’s head gently, trying to let him sleep for as long as possible. The moment was just so perfect…
Halo still slept as John held him. He purred softly as his hair was played with, nuzzling sleepily into John's hand. He peeps one eye open and smiles. "Hey there handsome." he mutters, snuggling closer to John as he sighed happily.
“I wanna wake up to that every day of my life,” John purred back, kissing Halo’s forehead lightly. He held onto Halo’s gently, but close. “I don’t ever want to leave you again…” John whispered lovingly.
Halo smiles sleepily and nods, "I love you too. I don't wanna leave you either." He mumbles sleepily. Smiling cutely as he curls up into John's chest as he says quietly, "I always wanna stay by your side."
“And I, yours…” John quietly spoke, brushing hand down Halo’s neck, “They were so wrong about you, love…” Gosh, I’m so in love with you, Halo… John curled over Halo, as if hiding them from the world. So they just just be… them. Not him and Halo, but them.
Halo smiles as he received the gentle touches from John. He releases a content sigh. He loved John dearly, and here, they could be them. Not having to worry about the outside world and just safe in John's arms. He gives a happy sigh. "I love you."
“You’re sure they won’t find us here…?” John murmured softly, curling his head more into the little part where Halo’s neck and shoulder met then kissing it. Just us, together.
"Positive." Halo replies, sighing happily. He nuzzles the other happily and sighs, purring as his neck is kissed. He runs a hand through John's hair, humming happily.
John let out a moan, or maybe it was Halo’s name, and closed his eyes. He snuggled Halo against his chest, adoring the other’s softness and warmth. He ran his hands up and down Halo’s back softly, just loving that they were safe.

John ran a hand down the side of Halo’s face, pausing to tickle the soft spot near Halo’s ear. He kissed the other again and again, and just as he was about to say another declaration of love, he froze up. A weird feeling, like a sixth sense, settled in his stomach. Just like the flip of a switch, his mind was racing, and he slowly shifted to cover Halo’s body with his. Whatever this was… John couldn’t let Halo get hurt.
Halo purrs, nuzzling into John's hand smiling a little as he shut his eyes. Halo chuckles a little, kissing the other back at times as he was kissed. He sensed something wrong, but wasn't sure what it was, looking up. "J-john?" He asks quietly, looking at the other nervously as he felt John shift so he was on top of the fallen angel. He held onto John, looking around nervously. "What's going on?"
“I don’t know,” John whispered back, glancing at his sword sitting near the stalagmite. If I could just get to it… but I can’t risk Halo getting hurt. John pressed the angel up against his chest, holding tightly as to protect him. Something was off, something was definitely off, “Stay close to me, alright? We’re gonna be fine…”
